Necronomicon bug.

So anyone found how to get the Necronomicon when its not in the closet in monastery? I just realoaded old save because my current was at epilog of the game and I found out that alot of quests are glitched so I realoaded to the save where I run away from monastery. Opened the closet and book is nowhere to be found. I also searched the secret stash and nothing, strange is I have the ceremonial dagger in my inventory from before, where did the book gone?

I thought the book was no where to be found too, but I had to jump to see it. It was on one of the upper shelves that I couldn't see from standing position. Try that.

It's there for me but It's called Necromonicon with a 1 on the end or an i not sure which. Either way doesn't update the quest when I pick it up. Hope they fix it but it's a minor side quest I think.

It wasn't missing in mine, but I've seen a few reports people saying it's missing.

Anyway, in the armoire is supposed to be Necronomicon I. Necronomicon II also exists (also in monastery, balcony by the sleeping chamber, under a lose stone), but I don't know if you can use this second book in the ghost sidequest as I used the first one.

same thing happened to me, there was no book in the bookshelf (yes its the right bookshelf)
however i went around at night pickpocketing the apprentices and one of them had Necronomicon II, it didnt update quest log but when i went back and spoke to the Apothecary and i said i had the book the quest log updated and it used the Necronomicon II

download a cheat from nexus and use "additem" through console

I think Siskin takes the Necronomicon at some point, talking to him might help if you can not find the book.

I just loaded old save to the point where you are still novice and the book was there.

necronomicon 2 works to complete the quest. Do you find him with one of the novices of the monastery.

For me it looked like the cupboard was empty, but the book was actually there! You have to look directly at the book itself not just the cupboard. For me it was on the left side just above half way up. I had scanned the cupboard about 4 times thinking it was empty when the book was there.

The quest has bugged on me. I got the key to the forbidden room and managed to knock out the prior and got the key to the forbidden books but the door still says ‘very hard’ and my lock picking skill still isn’t high enough for very hard locks.

So are you saying that even with the key to the forbidden books cabinet, you don't get the option to unlock the cabinet with the key? I've never experienced this issue before.

Do you have any mods installed? Also, have you tried verifying game files in Steam and reverting to a save before you lifted the key from the prior?
