Lost my hourse

I lost my horse after trying to find henrys dead parents and i cant whistle it back. Ive made some pretty serious progress on foot. Is this a glitch? How can i get my horse back?

In this section of the game you don't own a horse yet that comes back to you if you whistle. Just progress a bit until you're given a horse you own. So far you've just been uhmm... borrowing horses.

Could it maybe be dead? If you check the horse inventory... is it stll there?
If the answer is No and Yes you have to reload an older save because the horse might be bugged

If you're off to bury his parents don't sweat it. You get a horse later that one you won't keep anyways. I actually did not even get a horse at all for that part myself...

Your 1st horse will be called Pebbles.

no not a glitch, you dont actually own that horse, so you cant whistle for it. also your horse gets stolen after u fight the group of bandits

The horse should still be there where you left it in that cinematic, you can probably use it again?
Thou I am not sure if it will come when you whistle...

The horse is still there. You have to remember where you were when the cut scene kicked in and you left the horse behind. Search for it there.

If you plan ahead. Leave your horse on a road before leaving the area. Choose a cross road that is easily identifiable on the map.

Then afterward you can come back and retrieve it.

With a horse you can make it through the rescue of Capon much easier.

Can confirm, the horse you steal from Talmberg remains in the spot where Henry left it in the cutscene. Pretty cool little detail that I thought!

The horse can be found just past the quarry on the road from Talmberg to Skalitz (the same road you used to get to Talmberg in prologue quest "Run").
You can't miss the beast - it's standing in the middle of the road!

No idea how the ownership thing works with this horse. Presumably it remains flagged as stolen, so probably not a good idea to ride it into Talmberg again

you are bound to loose your first horse, the one you steal to visit your destroyed town (trying not to reveal spoilers :D ). later on you will be given your own horse. very soon.

The horse is not flagged as stolen. You can use it for as long as you need until you can buy one or given one. The only draw back is you can not call it to you nor can you transfer your personal inventory to it.

So it's kind of useless then really - unless you're just out to explore the map.

Early game, with no skills, no money ... it is tough to take on a Kuman 1 on 1. To have a chance to rescue AND kill the Kumans holding his lord Capon ... you need a horse. Kitting on a horse with bow and arrow. Quick money in early game.

So I guess I was the only one to pay the Apothecary AND the Miller by the end of the first day in Rattay & still have enough Groschen for a weeks food & a new outfit?
And the only one to fight both of the Kumans at the same time, kill them & rescue Lord Capon without a bow or a horse, while over-encumbered with Hare meat and suffering from food poisoning & over-eating?

You don't need a horse to make money / win fights early on - just roll up your sleeves & get to work... loot some bodies, pick some flowers, think of ways to make yourself useful! Cash & skills take care of themselves!

The first game I did what you did ... destroyed my knees picking flowers. Second time around It did it differently. :) No wrong way to play.
