My mod list to make the game more realistic/difficult and balanced late game
For all people that want a real challenge early on or balanced mid/late game.

Keep an eye on Dark Times - A Difficulty and Balance Overhaul. The mod author attempts to bundle already existing mods with his own mods together. Its still in beta though and I have not tested it myself yet. If someone did, please comment.

I will keep this updated for myself, if you know any good mods feel free to comment them.

My Mod list:

- disable master strike (its worth it)
- Reduce block time
- reduce scaling of weapon with strength
- Increase armor values by 2x
- Remove Those Stupid Trails, no arrow trails
- Faster arrows, makes arrows realistcly fast.
- More Responsive Targeting, good for larger fights.
- Perkaholic, adds more perks
- Roads are Dangerous, more random encounters when traveling.
- More Enemies adds more enemies for your random encounters
- Restore Halberds Allows you to use Halberds (Polearms) as primary weapons.
- Leather armor no longer plate, your leather gloves are considered leather not plate.
- Rebalanced Economy Overhaul, basically its harder to get filthy rich

*** Alternative ***

Immersive Balance

1. Weaponskill-scaling disabled
2. More aggressive enemy-groups
3. Increased influence of armorload to movementspeed and staminaregen
4. Item changes:
4.1 balanced Armor-weight according to price and defence-rating
4.2 'Leather / Hunter's gloves' no longer heavy armor
4.3 'Queen of Sheba's sword' no longer useless and properly adjusted
5. Shops:
5.1 very slightly reduced selling-prices
(shops no longer pay willingly more than the item is worth)
5.2 further reduced selling-prices at fences
6. slightly reduced Herb-gather XP and Herb-gather Radius
7. reduced Aim-Spread
8. no longer Blind NPCs
9. Stay Clean for a more realistic time
10. Higher SkillXP through reading, making it possible to achieve max level
11. increased influence of item-status to price
(not as much as I hoped due to system-limitation)
12. decreased influence of Armor- and Weapon-status to defense / attack
(giving common enemies a slight boost)
13. Decreased Specialperfectblock-Window for player
14. decreased prevalence of Perfectblock and Specialperfectblock on enemies
15. Longswords no longer massively OP
15.1 bigger dmg penalty for 1H Longsword
15.2 increase reach of Longswords
16. "Heavy Swing" Buff no longer OP; "Fast Striker" Buff influence decreased
17. Reduced price and increased weight of meat; adjusted prices for all Herbs
20. Balanced Weapon-dmges for ALL lootable weapons against max-armor. Introducing the biggest change to ingame Balance yet!
Results in NPCs doing a lot more dmg; while massively nerfing OP-Weapons.
Now the the most defining factor for the outcome of a battle is the equipment of the opponents!
21. bigger nerf for piercing weapons (stinger most of all)
22. adjustments to the cleaning mechanic

Included mods:
- zzz_kcd_StayCleanMedium by user SpacemanSal with kudos to user Xylozi
with adjusted values

in later Versions:
(sorted according to my priority and ease to implement)
19. Decrease Weaponscaling without disabling it
(I have found a possibility to decrease the Weaponscaling without having to completely disable it. This might be a complete game changer but requires a lot more tests)
20. Disable Perfectblock-SlowMo
(We will tackle this issue together with the author of Dark Times - sidewayz24)

Incompatable with mods that change:
- rpg.param.xml (every mod that adresses carryweight / XP / weapondamage)
- armor.xml and weapon.xml (all mods increase armor / Weapondamage / armortype)
- pickable_item.xml
- rpg_movement_type.xml
- shop.xml
- shop.xml

Nice list. I plan to replay the main story with Dark Times, once I exhaust the vanilla side quests.

Same, I am really interested how I do now in combat early on with this mod, now that I know all sword combos by heart. But I think I wait till it is actually finished & the game itself has a few more patches.

What is the level security for the user of these mods? Do they can read the files system, connect to internet and up/down data?

Don't think thats legal, usually mods just change or add things in the games code. The mod author should not have any access to any of your information.
I been modding for over 10 years and never had a security issue. All mods can do is break your game to the point where you have to start a new one.

At this moment all mods are just text files inside archive, like most of game files. Yes, you can change very very very much in game, just open archive and edit textfile inside.
So you can check everything yourself.

Ok thanks for your replies

It won't help to disabled master strikes if you also don't stop the enemy from always blocking your attempts at combos.

looks like you still have some combat to learn ;) you have to wait for the right moment. The more combos you know the more options you have. It all depends where their weapon is, how far away, stamina etc would be boring if you can just smash combo after combo and they couldn't block :D
