Choices matter?
I just finished the game completely, did I miss something?
Felt like none of my choices where too impactful. You might be able to take different paths in most quests but the end result is pretty much the same?

There is only one final ending, but many, many paths to get there.

I doubt any particular choice branches the game significantly (as opposed to Witcher 2). But I do feel there were some interesting paths to have been taken; what would of happened if you gave the bandits Timmy's location, that sorta thing, or if you had Zbyshik locked up after he helped you escape.

Or if you did none of the siege preparations at Talmberg.

sure but I mean even all the quests that lead there. Seems like the story doesn't ever branch off no matter of what choices I take.

There are various paths but your choices dont really matter.

Guess I find that out on my second time around :) (after the game is finished, polished, modded) lol

Yeah your choices don't matter at all.

Yeah unless every single choice alters the entire course of the game and leds to one of 5000 alternate endings, it's a wash.

I mean for example if you say "♥♥♥♥ hans" and then you still ride with hans into the sunset but his attitude towards you is different. Just little things like that. Like instead of you two becoming friends he still treads you like a lesser person.

This is a game based on historical events.
Not even your Henry can change history lad.
Unless you found a DeLorean in one of the caves that I didnt.

Whats fascinating is how the save mechanic influences this. Because saving is semi-costly/infrequent, I would often find myself at a point where I was interested in seeing how it could of played out, but unwilling to go to a 2 hour old save to find out. This means that there were fewer chances to directly observe the different outcomes.

I consistently treated Hans like ♥♥♥♥ and he hated me. I'm being his bro this run and he's been pretty amicable. I'm satisfied with that level of choice. I still hate Hans though.

not what I mean at all, I understand that the main story should stay the same since its a storybased/historical accurad game. Just who your friends with, how people talk to you.
(important npcs, not the scripted peasant lines based on your rep in that area)

Choices matter in quite alot of side quests but I haven't really noticed it mattering much in most of the main quests

This is a narrative driven RPG with a pretty much predetermined outcome. You're just one little guy caught up in the events of the world, you won't have a major impact on world events. This game isn't so much about what the end result is, more about how you get there.

Oh no, it's one of those kids who thinks choices don't matter if they don't result in completely divergent plot points.

There are multiple choices involved in almost any quest so you can replay them differently usually at least 3 ways. The plot still continues, as it must until we have Star Trek level super computers that autogenerate new plot lines, and that's fine.

The choices matter as much as they do in a Telltale game, and they pretty much lead the way in choose your own adventure story telling in games.
