Ginger in the Pickle - How to kill the 2 Bandits !?
Hi there!

I'am following the main quest "Ginger in the Pickle" and desperately tried 20 times in a row with a save to kill both bandits but it is not possible. Every time i kill one bandit sleeping the other one hits me twice and i'am gone. This is really getting frustrating and no more fun. I tried several combinations of Bow and Sword, with or without a horse, at day & night. Nothing works. One bandit kills me, game over. What shall i do? I cant continue playing KCD at the moment :-(

Is it maybe possible to set the main quest aside and do something else to level up?
I somewhere read on reddit you should not go on your own tracks before you finished the Neuhoff main quest. But i'am not sure if thats right.

For any help i'am thankful, because now i have no idea how to continue the game. Tyring 20 times again to kill these damn bandits wont work.

Thx,

Manuel

ask captain bernard for help

If you want to fight them, make sure to train with bernard in rattay for say... a whole ingame day. Should get your strength and weapon skill to level 10-ish. With that the two bandits are pushovers. Do the training for one or two more ingame-days and you'll be unstoppable at str 17, sword 17... The progression is kinda weird in this game...

Trouble is of course, that bernard is in neuhof and won't train you at this point...

In which case, wait for nightfall and try to do a stealth takedown from behind then deal with the other bandit one on one?

I'd do that only if you're chasing Mercy achievement.

Otherwise, sneak KO/kill one, the second is easy then. If you can't win melee, put an arrow to his eye.

I waited till midnight. Then I snuck into the camp and knocked one of them out. The other woke up and attacked me. As after waking up he didn't wear his armour and had no weapon I could kill him quite easily. Then I killed the other ppor guy while he was still knocked out.

well bernard (and his men?) basically kills them for you so I don't see the problem.

Go back to Bernard so you don't bug the mission. After getting help the quest is triggered forward.

Improve your skills first, do some side quests and activities and train with Bernard because he will teach you new moves and skills.

I found this the trickiest fights as neither I or Henry was particularly experienced. I just fell back on mount and blade logic and backpedaled, with a little patience I got it.

You can convince him to return to Rattay while you search for Ginger

Find the brawlers in Rattay. You can fist fight them to level unarmed, strength, agility, and defense skills. This will help you sword fighting aswell. Practice blocking with them, raise your defense skill. Blocking and countering is an effective way to beat tough opponents.

One of those 'bandits' with the black and white hood is actually not a 'bandit', he's too skillful to be one.

Can anyone clarify you can still get the free toy weapons training while he has at the stable? I thought you had to wait until you completed Ginger in a pickle and that he returns to rattay? I recall only seeing the traiing option that you pay for while he is at the farm?

You can run back and tell Benrard about the bandits .I honestly think they have this quest in this spot so you can see there are many ways to complete a quest since Henry is still a noovice at combat. Roleplay for me at least at this part is having Henry figure he is not a match and it best to inform Benard. He does not have the anger and rage inside him like he did when he faced Runt.

I went up in the middle of the day on a horse with a bow (Hans one), triggered them, rode away a bit, turned and hit them with an arrow. When they get close just ride past back the way you came and repeat.
