Where is Karl? (spoilers)

I talked to him when i try to get into the monestary, but he did not respond when i talked to him because his guard was there. Therefore i waited a bit and came back later, and he wasn't there. His marker was gone and everything. I don't even know where the monestary is.

Anyone else got this bug?

weird the guard should stay with him until you manage to let you alone with karl. As soon you're alone Karl will tell you where to find the letter to let you join the monestary.
the monestary is this huge building in the north of sasau ^^
