Easy way to level Maintenance Skill:

1. Buy some armour/tailor repair kits in Rattay.
2. Train with real weapons with Captain Bernard.
3. Let him hit you couple of times (not too many) then surrender.
4. Repair damaged Equipment with the kits.
5. Repeat.

I got level 20 in Maintenance doing this very fast and the Maintenance tree gives some nice perks.

Or you could simply grind your sword to 100% exit out, swing your sword at a wall a few times, then get back to griding on a grindstone

Just grind the sword out on the stone to dull then sharpen then dull then...

Or you could just loot all weapons from bandits and grind it instead of swinging your sword at wall

Repairing all your armor with armor kits seems to give more xp then using grindstone because you repair multiple at a time., so it's faster to get to lvl 20 this way. Grindsstone is good when you dont have money to buy kits.

You dont have to hit wall. You can damage it with a grindstone. But that is as a very slow way of leveling maintenance. Better to rob every house in Rattay. This way you level lockpicking and pickpocketing, get rich, get endgame gear from robbing merchants, and end up with thousands of items in stash. Get repair kits and repair them all until level 20 maintenance. Took me few minutes to cap maintenance.

Repairing swords and axes from bandits not only help you level up repair skill but also make thsoe weapons cost more at vendors.

I doubt it's faster, You can gain levels every 30 seconds early on and every 2 minutes near max level just grinding your sword. It's been a while since I did it so I can't remember the exact times, but it's extremely fast.

Only thing is you need moneyy... but money is easy to get im sitting at 45k atm.

IN PROLOGUE (fastest way and one of the cheapest ways)

buy 1 butcher blade or coopers axe
(the cheaper the weapon the less % of the blacksmith kit it uses but XP is the same)
buy 1 small blacksmiths kit

i got to level 20 maintenance in under 20 minutes
wile only using up to 3% of a small blacksmiths kit

step 1 make the sword dull on the stone
step 2 use blacksmith kit to fix it
repeat

seriously all that fixing only costed 3% of a small blacksmith kit to get to level 20
