No no, i got the game from another source that's all, but i was just wondering if i can transfer all my progress from there to a steam version, since i want to own the game on this account

Wow eh? I've not heard of anything like that in Canada. Closest would be ISP's sending cease and desists, but I am unaware of anyone being punished for pirating here.
