Finding a merchant who can pay for expensive goods?
So where can I find a merchant who can but stuff over 1k? I tried the one in Rattay several times and it says he can't pay 200 or stuff like that.

The more you use a merchant, the more money he starts to stock over time

The more stuff you sold to the armorer, trader, weaponsmith (can't remember the correct name) or Taylor in Rattay and the horse trader in Neuhof the more money they will have to buy your stuff. I don't know if this is a bug but the lady on the stables can buy any type of item,

I have to say HORSE:shit: to this....

I have seen this stated many times, and that is just not the case at all in my game. Last trip to the Rattay armourer he had 400 gold. I was away from there for several days too. Same goes for the other merchants there. Maybe I just haggle way to damn well? Still have not gotten the saved 2K haggling achievement however, so maybe not?

There is a guy you can sell to to the lookers right of that armourer too, that will buy books and cups and such things as well. I sell the clothes to the tailor between them. Try spread it around some to get what I can for it all.

Can only confirm that it absolutely does not work this way in my game at all.

My Rattay armorer has something like 10k+ stock in cash, on the new playthrough he didnt have much at all. They will take a while to restock their cash, I also do not haggle every penny out of them, sometimes I even give them more cash or make them not pay as much

OR.... OR .... You can download the Rich Merchants mod off nexus and save yourself the annoying pain of a broken game.

I tip when I get repairs and haggle when I sell. I always leave them with some money and they never sell jack I sold to them. Again I will repeat that after multiple days of being away from Rattay I return to sell some things and that exact NPC still has only 400 gold. So my experience in the game can only serve to prove what you are saying completely false. I have heard more than you say this though and it makes me wonder if this is a bug of sorts or if perhaps there is some RNG involved here and RNGesus just hates me....

I still manage fine. No need to mod it to make it silly easy IMO.

The way i think it works goes something like this: when you have the items in your inventory they show a value i.e 1k but when you sell it to the armourer he will only pay you 500 but then after a few days he is restocked by 1k for the item you sold him for 500. In my game the armorer has about 18k. This works better if you sold him the expensive gear and not the cheap stuff.

Call BS if you want but it is true, in my game the Armorsmith in Rattay currently has over 20k gold available when I come to sell. That being said I have also had periods where he does not seem to restock his gold, in that case I go to Sassau and sell there, then at a later date return to Rattay and he is good to do, usually.

Yes it's not BS, if you sold him again a lot of stuff he will replenish again in a few days. He probably only sell cheap stuff to the armourer that's why he never has a lot of money.

I have noticed it can take a few days to a week in game for them to restock their cash. So I started spreading my selling around so more then one merchant has decent cash

I am telling you you can say that because my game proves it is BS. I'm wondering why that is more than anything else though. I see this advice and I can confirm based on my play though it is not working like this in the least. So I'm not remotely convinced as such, we can give this out as sound advice as you claim it to be in the least. I do believe that is you experience as you described it though. I have seen others say the same. I'm here to say that I don't think this is as consistent as people claim, for the reasons I have stated above.

He did not. And no I don't even pick up cheap :shit:. So there goes that theory....
