what's with maximum number of saves

So I got the save mod to get around the utterly asinine save system. Very glad someone made that one. In the description it says the maximum number of saves is 300, but for some reason the game already tells me I have reached the maximum number of saves at... 14?? Any idea what's up here?

My highest save is only numbered 14, I want to know why I can't get 300...

The game will only allow you 10 (I think) of your own saves before you have to delete older ones to make new ones. The autosaves the game makes do not count toward that 10 limit.

I'm not a huge fan of this.. I rather have it be that when I use a schnapps, I got the option to overwrite my last manual save, or at least pop up with the save menu to manually overwrite a past save. I hate how it automatically makes a new save file every time I save.

Oh ok, so the limit of 300 only means highest number, not toal. 10 is really a bit low for a game of that size, especially with the way lockpicking and the like works...
