In search for Stealth Gear (1.2.5)
Hi community.
After much soul searching, i came to the conclusion of loving the use of stealth gears. However i rarely see in any discussion of stealth gear on how or where to get them from. So let me share mine, and hopefully you share yours

1. Dark Saxon Gamberson (Body Garment) Vis/Cons/Noise 8/13/0 (Shop)
Early gear for Stealth, you can purchase them from the Tailor in Rattay @ 635.3

2. Tight red hose (Hose) Vis/Cons/Noise 9/9/0 (Roam)
Another good gear, basically the one and only. You can get this from the Armored Mercenary you will encounter on the road. Or if you are brave enough, and already using good gears, head to Skalitz. There is a water milled occupied by bandits, and one of them has the Hose you seek.

3. Black Hood (Outer Garment) Vis/Cons/Noise 6/12/0 (Roam)
This has been a pain to find. There are 3 types of Black hood in the game, all with different Vis/Cons/Noise. The one you are looking for are the ones with 0 Noise, which is not available in any Shops. You can get it by looting at armored Bandit with red colored Gamberson, with a shield and a mace. He and his cronies will most of the time ambush you while travelling on the road

4. Leather Glove *not to be confused with hunter's glove (Gloves) Vis/Cons/Noise 4/4/0 (Roam)
This gear you can find it when you loot those bandits, especially Cumen's archers. You can buy it from the shops, but i do not remember which one was it. You can get it easier by fast travel, or raiding a Cumen camp.

5. Silent Shoe (Boots) Vis/Cons/Noise 17/15/0 (Shop)
Another early game gear, this shoe will not make a sound. It also help to redeuce overall Vis/Cons. You can buy them from the Cobbler at Sasau @ 213.6. For those who has Higher level or Maintenance, go for Leather Boots and fix it regularly with the Stuffing perk to reduce the noise to 0.

With that i complete my list. With only Well Worn perk, my Vis/Cons/Noise are at 17/18/2. The next upgrade would be Lightly Tarred Jacket, which i have not found yet in the game. Many claimed to have it, but without telling where they get it from. Would like to reach out to you guys for aid if anyone remembers where to get it from, or who i have to kill to get it.

Thanks in advance.

*Update, Found a bandit camp with 3 good item for stealth
Light Tarred Jacket
Hunter's Glove
Black Hood

It is from the bandit camp Captain Bernard asked you to wipe out. In between Sasau, Rattay and Ledetchko, west of the cave, north of the Conciliation cross. If you open the map there's a cloud of black smoke.

Another place for Light tarred jacket is when Sir Radzig and Feyfar send you to check in the mines, you will cross an archer in the mines, he is using one togeter with all those who is wearing a straw hat.

I also opted for the hooded monk robe (15/13 8, monk's habit), that one that can be looted in the priests house in sassau.
Optional : Monk's habit (Hooder) Vis/Cons/Noise 15/13/8 (Roam)
Location : Sasau armorer, come at night, the 1st chest before going to the 1st floor. Opposite the stairs

The monk's robe works great as well. Been wearing them on top of everything else. Just try not to be annoyed by the clipping of the layer below it.

The one i have right now is Monk's Habit, but i dont think that is what you are referring to. Might wanna visit the monestary again.

Are you a full-time thief? Are you able to get away with stealing and not get caught by the all-knowing guards? Selling only to Millers? Or is this for combat?

Personally I just put my loot in a chest and come back later to sell it, other than that I walk around at night killing guards and civilians. The guards don't suspect a thing.

I also opted for the hooded monk robe (15/13 8, monk's habit), that one that can be looted in the priests house in sassau. There are others, but slightly worse, if it even matters. Then i have leather gloves ((4/4 0), quiet dark shoes (14/12 0, regular quiet shoes do the same, i just like these for being dark), and tight red hose (9/9 0)).
Reason why i went with full cloth is speed (30) and complete invisibility, dont care about armor values anymore. I can get 1/0 0 under favorable circumstances, rest being 26/24 0, which i honestly dont care to lower anymore. I dont really use potions to compensate for no armor, but i have them handy just in case.
However, this set's charisma value is disgusting, so i have another one for town stuff. Black chaperon, shirt from stephanie, tight red hose, noble's dark shoes, signet ring, necklace and silver spurs (never bothered to get the golden spurs), which can get charisma up to 20 with a bath, perks and all that stuff. Its something i like, just an example.
This all being so light means more room for loots, heh :) i usually knock them down first, loot them then kill them, to avoid damaging gear even more, not that crappy loot means anything anymore.
The only problem with wearing a monk robe is the stupid monk comments from EVERY npc, including other monks, since i often forget or dont bother swapping it for the shirt.
I really wish we could save and recall sets.

I use this for thieving and also combat. Gear being so light means a lot of running speed, so nothing can catch you, even if you get spotted, runing away and disappearing is easy (as long as youre not overburdened).
Fighting as stealth is NOT running into a group of enemies and fight them all at the same time, is picking them off quietly one by one. However, spending some time with Bernard to raise defense and weapon skill is a good thing to do, as npc fighting skills also go up. If you cant beat both wayfarer knights and the nercenary wearing cloth (and bernard for the matter), you need to train more fighting and defense. Same for going out poaching and raise bow skill. A well aimed arrow to the face (use wh_pl_showfirecursor 1 in console) is just as effective as a backstab.

Not getting caught by guards is relatively simple, but being a master of the Alchemy, my Savior Shnaaps count is off the roof. Immersion breaking, sure. But meh.
Combat wise i enjoy stealth kills, its faster, more reliable than facing 5-6 armed Bandits while trying to kill them one at a time. Being a alchemist is another plus where you can spike their food, or drinks. As Xenomorph mentioned, we pick one guy at a time, luring them to false places by using a bow, and use stealth kill. Repeat this for some time, and you basically wipe out the bandit camps. Cons to this build is that you are only usable at night, by morning you will have harder time to do so.

Raigavin Feb 25, 2018 @ 11:51pm
I have the same equipment, thou I don't have the Tight red hose.
Shrapnel Feb 25, 2018 @ 11:56pm
I like that they have stealth clothing in game, too bad you can walk around in fullplate, torch in hand, and rob entire towns blind at night :)
Just needs a little tweaking atm

Looks like my link isn't working, anyways it's a screenshot of my stealth setup. 6/9/0 vis/con/noise and high armor, chainmail and some plate. Screenshot taken from Xbox and is in my artwork.

What you can do is to just go around and kill animals. Sell it to a miller for a loss. When he have sold it he will have a much larger money pile which makes sure you can steal stuff and earn money on it.

That is because you are in the forest and have the perk for it. Doesn't mean you are invs in a town.
