In God's Hands - Custodian dialogue

Has anyone been successful in the dialogue check with Custodian during the quest "in gods hands".

Ive had my speech higher than his, 80 reputation, 18 charisma and I still fail. I've given up and let this creep court Johanna and it feels bad.

I did it with 12 speech and a bard potion when asking for supplies.
In the other part that wasn't enough and I added on golden tongue and the burgher perk along with a bard potion(12+8 speech). Might reload as I don't to take those perks.

im going to assasinate hiim one day. first time he threw me to jail for 3hrs, second attempt and he threw me to jail for 24hrs. thanks to him i wasnt able to spriint for next couple of days.

I think a non-skill check option works here to convince him to help. And if you talk to Johanna about him, she's actually offended that you have negative opinions about him, so ♥♥♥♥ both of them.

Both speech options get me thrown in jail for 1 day. Using a bard potion with 2 more skill than him never works. Really want to progress this potential romance story. Has anyone get past this yet? Or game patch?

I looked into the achievements and there is nothing about romancing this girl, I think it's simply a side quest and not a romance option.

yes, I have succeeded, but on my last playthrough my speech, with all buffs, was around 18 before I could get past this. (I'm damned if I'm going to let the opportunity to give him some lip slide by; it is the only time you can). Seemed to be easier, if not much, on previous attempts, so maybe the general level of Sasau approval has a bearing. Previously I have wrapped up the monastery stone quest before starting with Johanka.

On hardcore the skill check level is 18, I was two levels short until I used the loose tongue drinking skill, went to the charlatan in the market and bought his speech skill book, leveled up to 11 speech and activated the burgher perk, bard potion and moonshine to get pissed as a fart which got me up to 18 speech.... 17 is a fail.

I passed out drunk because of this, and woke up two hours later, stripped naked, on top of the scaffolding of the monastery. Those Benedictine monks know how to show you a good time!

The only thing that matters is your Speech skill - 17 or 18, i cant remember which.

Charisma, Reputation, nothing else seems to matter - just Speech skill

When you miss only one point, you can find the lvl 4 Book for speechcraft in a treasure chest, use the Bard's Potion (when you're at least at 10) and you can read the book, that is good for at least one upgrade,

Nice tip - i didn't realize that potions cold be used to bypass skill level requirement - ty

... or maybe i did and just forgot ;)
