Ginger in a Pickle -- Ginger is NOT AT THE HUT

I followed the clues from the charcoal burners, I killed the two bandits, I am at the right hut (I've seen this location in YouTube videos). Ginger *is not here*. Now what? I've waited 48 hours. Tried hiding to see if he comes back.

Is this a known bug or something? WTF am I supposed to do now?

But no, seriously, 80% of people will encounter game breaking (mainquest) bugs in this game still. It's not finished yet. Either start a new game, revert to an older game, or do nothing and wait for proper fixes. I'm in the same boat with the Payback mission, i can't even get past the infinite loading screen on my SSD. So it's broken.

did you return to Cap Bernard before killing the bandits? I think he triggers the rest of it.

for me Cap Bernard has lend me two soldiers and we killed those bandits together.
Got same problem. Ginger is not in his hut

I reloaded from the Save game, went to the hut directly without messing about with the charcoal burner or the bandits and Ginger was there. Annoying but at least I can continue.

He's there. But like on a lot of quests, the quest marker is pretty far off. I had to wonder around for a while to find him, but he's there. At least he was when I went there.

I did went inside that hut. YT videos show him sitting but my game doesn't

I finish this quest without report to Captian Bernand.
And he yelling at me at report to him.
so it is some bug I think.

I had this problem too, just wait for some hours and/or travel to any city and back to his hut. That solved it for me.

I had the same problem, then I have returned later, at least a game day and there he was.

In this game, NPCs actually walk to their locations over time as quests progress. If you are too fast, you can get ahead of them.
