Suddenly wanted in several destinations. Why?
Can someone explain something to me? I hope this isn't a bug...

So I went for a criminal career and gotten a quest from Peshek, who instructed me to get a hold of the ownership deed in Rattay. Said, done. After that I strolled around town during the night (with torch) and went back to the mill to get some sleep. The next day I completed the quest without any issues and went for some treasure hunting in a nearby forest.

Suddenly, out of nowhere, the game told me that I was now wanted for my crimes in three places at once. Rattay, the Mill and Skalitz out of all places. Why the hell would that be?!

Sure, I looted some corpsed in Skalitz and also lightened some passers-by from their possessions before, but if I would have been caught red-handed or being searched for by a city guard the game should have notified me way before I'd assume.

I was just walking through a forest, about one ingame day after my last crime, and then it suddenly hit me with an APB. Is there a mechanic that crimes are being reported in a delayed manner (and I am blamed for)? Or can this be considered a bug?

I checked a previous save. When I was turning in said quest item, I was still free as a bird.

Also, how long does it take until the arrest status is being lifted? Are there any long term side effects?

EDIT: Sooo, I turned myself in to see what crime they are accusing me of. Turns out, TWO IN-GAME DAYS AGO, I had a fist-fight for another quest. After I knocked the guy out, I accidentally started carrying his body (I didn't read the prompt and thought it was looting), but dropped him immediately. Well, apparently someone saw this and reported me.... days after -.-

There is no long term side effects from what I know. It will pass after few days, just go be naughty somewhere else and after some time it should be good. I think it happend for me too in one place. I robbed someone in wilderness and witness escaped. After some time i had this red status in the nearest town. Never made that mistake again ;)

About that quest, i had no trouble after any of them from any millers. Unless someone saw you and run away to guards.

One thing I noticed is that if I happen to run across someone I stole from a long time ago, they will recognize me and sound the alarm.

That's interesting. Game says that NPC stop being angry on you if you pay or go to prison for your crimes. That may be it.
