Cooked meat seems detrimental to eat vs other foods

Cooked meats seem vastly inferior to almost every other type of food in the game. Bread gives the same nourishment as most cooked meats, restores 2 energy as well... Whereas all cooked meats give only slightly more nourishment (some are actualyl the same as bread) but always drain energy by -2 or -4 .. seeing as how food is literally everywhere in this game and Energy is a much more precious resource, what is the point in using meat? It spoils faster than any other food, costly if you buy it, is heavy and it tires you out just eating it.

Am I missing something? It doesn't even restore health like fruit does.. it just seems like an utter waste of space to carry.

you can preserve game meat longer with a hunting perk. tho its quite pointless if you have human dustbin perk. well not entirely since freshness of a food effects item price. so if you selling food meat gives most groschens in return.

if we look to nourishment only then going with other types of food rather than meat is beneficial due to its weight.

so its purely matter of what you need that piece food for.

I look at it this way... in real life... when I get finished eating a big, fat, juicy steak... I usually want to take a nap I'm so stuffed... eat a slice of fresh bread, yeah, I'm not as hungry, but not as stuffed versus eating the steak and not as tired...

Well, look at cooked beef.. its heavier than bread, same nourishment and dreains -2 energy.. bread is lighter, cheaper, gives same nourishment and +2 energy.. and bread lasts 2x as long as cooked beef (even the 25% longer duration perk for meat doesn't make it come close to bread).

Meat has zero advantage over bread, bread rolls, pancakes, any fruit or vegetables.. it is literally a pointless food. The onyl thing I find meat good for is selling to merchants when I find it or when I kill a deer. It is never worth keeping the meat for food.

I just wish they gave it some benefit as right now it is hopeless.

There is only 1 useful meat in the game and that is Bacon.. It lasts long and doesn't drain energy, but that's it.

yes i see what you mean. nourishment levels are absurd where other things a bit much more realistic. i mean nourishment wise a venison is equal to a dozen apples in this game but in reality if i d eat that many apples i d vomit in the end.

the weight of items not really realistic also. books for ex. etc etc

when i said `it depends what you need the piece of food for`

a - if you carrying a food only to sell . the meats going to bring back most grochen back in return
b - if you only keeping a piece food for nourishment purpose then its better to go with other food since they weight less. bread vegetable fruits dried goods

but i agree yes they should look nourishment and weight values all over again.

Okay modders, you hear them: In addition to one bar fo calories we need some bars for proteins and various vitamins and minerals. ;D
In seriousness, one advantage game has over other stuff is that you can get a lot of it cheaper than bread. Costs you not even an arrow if you hit.
