'Hare Hunt' and 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' and 'Cherchez La Femme'
Open SPOILERS for these quests. I'm going to assume if you are searching for or otherwise open this thread, you are curious about the quests and spoiler tagging everything seems like an unneeded hassle.

First of all I know these quests are kinda buggy right now. So, what's the best way to complete these quests? Let me try to lay it out. I think these quests only open up after 'Baptism of Fire' main quest.

You get 'Hare Hunt' by talking to Hunter Nicholas in Talmberg. You get 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' by talking to Andrew at the Glade Inn. As far as I can tell, if you get 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' first, you cannot get 'Hare Hunt' at all. (I might be wrong on that.)

Now these quests have a lot of parts and interlocking objectives but I think there are basically 3 outcomes:

1.) If you complete the objectives for 'Hare Hunt', you ultimately side with the knights during the poacher/knight skirmish. You kill the poachers, follow Hare, and kill him. This FAILS 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing', COMPLETES 'Hare Hunt', and you never get 'Cherchez La Femme' at all.

2.) If you complete the objectives for 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing', you ultimately side with the poachers during the poacher/knight skirmish. You then follow Hare to his hideout and accept his offer. This FAILS 'Hare Hunt', COMPLETES 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing', and you get 'Cherchez La Femme'.

3.) While completing 'Hare Hunt' objectives, you eventually convince Margaret to tell you where Hanekin Hare is. You go there and accept his offer. This FAILS 'Hare Hunt', COMPLETES 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' (despite you not finishing what Lukesh wants you to do), and gives you the quest 'Cherchez La Femme'. This avoids the poacher/knight skirmish entirely.

(There's actually a 4th outcome where you side with Hare, then kill him, resulting in basically everything failing)

So, 3 is the best option, right? I was wondering if I was missing anything, or if the fact that "failing" Hare Hunt has any repercussions, such as with the Completionist Trophy or whatever.

Edit: I suppose you can get 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' first, complete it to the end (option 2 above), getting Cherchez La Femme', and never picking up 'Hare Hunt' at all, That would avoid having a failed quest in your log book, I guess?

First of all, you should flag your post as SPOILER. There are some massive ones here :)

I was not able to properly finish Hare Hunt nor Cherchez La Femme due to several quest related bugs. I spent nearly 4 hours going back and forth between various saves to test outcomes.

Bugs that I run to:
Hare Hunt
1. Margaret NPC died due to fall damage, I had this happen to me twice while she was going to steam in Talmberg.
2. Thomas (Tom'of'bath) did not recognize me talking to Jack Piper and did not offer appropriate dialogue options
3. I could not interact with Jack Piper
4. Quest objective pointing to Brada simply disappeared from log after talking to Thomas as a first person
5. Deer torso on the clear above stone quarry could not be interacted with
Cherchez La Femme
1. Hare does not complete the quest after resolving all objectives, he disappears from his location after completing dialogue options with him and forced waiting till morning. He can be found randomly wandering around nearby forest, you can hear his horn from time to time. Hare has a dialogue, which refers to completion of the quest but it repeats without any impact on his actions.

Btw, seems that completionist trophy/achievement doesnt actually require /all/ quests to be completed, just most of them. I have not verified myself, but in any case seems like the best option is to side with hare and do the follow up quests ... maybe when the bugs are ironed out :p

What I'm most curious about right now is how the 'Completionist'-Achievement works. I hope 'completed' doesn't mean we're not allowed to fail them. Because if not then these three quests definitely break it. From what I could find out so far there's no way to fulfill them all.
I guess it's either failed or succeed since you have to fail at least one of them ...

Cherchez la femme. I was able to get it to work without issue and here is exactly what i did. I felt it was important to mention the prior quest hunting hare cause what i did there may impact somehow?
(1) Get the quest from the master huntsman
(2) Go to the Inn Glade and talk to the inn keeper (Alex?)
note: Keep In mind I only cared about this quest because i wanted to become a huntsman so I never did any parts of hunting hare quest.
(3) Do the quest to win his cup back (I did via archery) from a stable hand in neuhof
(4) Meet with the contact (name was black something?) and go get the deer antlers
(5) I tried to wait for night time to steal the huntsmans horn but I ended up going through the house and around back. I saw him standing in front of the fire pot so i just knocked him out and stole the horn.
(6) Give the Horn to the contact (name was black something?)
(7) I waited till 5am just so there was light and met at up with the other poachers
(8) Sided with Hare and met them at the hideout.
note: FYI do not shoot any hares or deer, it might be tempting cause they walk slow, but it will cause Hare and company to attack you
(9) I talked to someone in the camp (black something?) he asks you to get his stash from his house !!! IMPORTANT: I DID NOT complete his quest
Note: I didn't because I thought bugs might come from that. In hindsight this was a valid concern because this 'get stash' quest fails when you complete Cherchez la femme.
(10) After that I talked to Hare and he gave me the quest to kidnap the huntsmans wife
(10b) idk if it matter but i exhaust all the dialogue options before I accept the quest
(11) I wait till around 4am while still in the forest. Then run over (on foot) to the huntsmans house
(12) I ran up and down the road (the stretch of road walking from the inn up to the huntsmans house) until it was about 5.
(13) I see a guard at the house so I walk around and I knocked him out without killing him.
(14) I heard no horn so then I ran around the road until 6.
(15) IMPORTANT: I DID NOT hear horn but went up to the house around 6 anyways
(15b) I read online about someone going in with waiting for the horn, apparently he just went in to the house, so that is why I assumed i was too far to hear the horn)
(16) I lock pick the door.
(17) The wife is sleeping but when I walk up to her (private room I guess) she woke up and warned me to get out of there
(18) When the wife stands up I talk to her.
(19) I used speech check to convince her, the one where I say that her husband has walked right into Hare's trap.
(19b) I exhaust all dialogue options here as well.
(20) I believe there was a cutscene right after convincing her where you end up in Hare's camp again? ( I am pretty sure there was )
(21) In dialogue, I answered "I don't think about it, what's next". Hare tells you about the confession.
Note: Again I try to exhaust dialogue so if there were any I would have done so
(22) I find the huntsman walking in the woods and when I talk to him he asks about wife
(23) My dialogue options were something along the lines of "Hare has your wife" "I am the one who kidnapped her". In speech check I selected the "honor" option where it says something along the lines of "you almost had an innocent man killed over a woman and after all the years it is coming back to haunt you ... Man up ... exchange your name for a happy life with wife ... Hare will let you have a head start." Huntsman say "what choice do I have".
NOTE: I DID NOTE fight him or anything the huntsman just signed the confession.
(24) I talk to Hare and he says something like "really he signed it? no bloodshed? I'm glad."
(25) IMPORTANT: For me right afterward talking to Hare, there was a cutscene that has me and Hare walking to talmburg and meeting with Sir Divish.
(26) IMPORTANT: In the cutscene Sir Divish says that you will have to talk to the chamberlain (aka the scribe) to get the master huntsman job.
(27) I talk to the scribe and it triggers a quest for me to get venision for Sir Divish. I will update once I find out if I actually have the house or not.

NOTE: I DID NOT save while doing the Cherchez la femme quest. I DID save while doing the Hunting Hare portion of this quest chain (quite alot actually 5+ times)

Note: If you don't have high speech you can drink a potion that gives you like +5 speech. I did drink a speech potion as a precaution.

I don;t think every failing quest is a bad thing. its rather per design strategy to make naturally correlated quests and let the player decide or his fate as it happens results depend on timing also. games that have more of ultimate goal of points achieved like the ones of dungeons and dragons style would prefer you succeeded quests, but in this one you're ought to help write Henry's story that's all.
regardless of that, some things are to be heed by the devs, such as, I killed Hare in 'Hare hunt' quest, then I find him much later in the 'sheep in wolf's clothing' but only in the video, as to why the quest even biggens in the same manner when Hare long ago gone is entirely upto the devs to fix.

I know I'm late but I don't understand... Which way is the best for this quest? is there any way to complete the "hare hunt" and taking hanekin side?

For some reason I managed to find a 5th outcome that is a total time paradox, when you're about to meet hanekin hare behind the tree after being directed by the hunter's wife, arrest him but instead of killing him by the sword, knock him down with bare fists, it will complete hare hunt but for some reason, sheep in wolve's clothing will still be active and can be completed, when you reach the poacher's camp, hanekin hare will magically be present thanks to the cinematic, and then makes you fight against guards, and then you can follow Hanekin to his hideout, didn't went any further for now cause I was totally confused but I'll try that again and see how this goes for the Cherchez la femme quest
