Save often, try it out.. but you may need to load a save before you started this.
Hopefully 1.3 brings some quest fixes..
If you do option 2 above, I learned that Lukesh actually has a follow-up quest but this is messed up a bit. You can go back to Lukesh's house and he wants to give him his secret stash. The quest is "Emergency Supply'. However, the secret stash is in the very house he is standing in. You uh find it and give it to him in a matter of 5 seconds and you complete the quest (??????????).
Note, he does NOT seem to give this quest if you go with option 3 above. Seems like you must complete 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' via the skirmish route.
If you do "option 3", but kill Hare, the game totally messes up (as long as you have 'Sheep in Wolves Clothing' quest active?). You can take Hare's Ring and give it to Nicolas, COMPLETING 'Hare Hunt'. You can then steal Nicolas's Horn, give it to Lukesh, and continue on with the option 2 ending. So this means, yes, Hare comes back during the skirmish cutscene (?????????) but he's dead, so after the skirmish you can't do anything from there. You can actually do 'Emergency Supply' from here, despite Hare being dead and all that.
So, it seems like in terms of "most completed quests" option 2 in my initial post is best, because you can complete 3 quests ('Sheep in Wolves Clothing', 'Cherchez La Femme', 'Emergency Supply) and fail 1 ('Hare Hunt'). There's also the consideration here what if you never pick up 'Hare Hunt' in the first place.
So yeah this set of quests is a mess ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ and I haven't even tried 'Cherchez La Femme' yet which is reportedly also bugged.
Also I had no idea they were like this, how the hell are you supposed to get complete all quests trophy? does it carry over for other playthroughs where you choose the other side?..
Lukesh is usually in a house NW of the Talberg fast travel point. Sometimes he appears at Hare's cave NE of Talmberg along the river.
Thanks I appreciate it. Might leave the quest untouched after researching it and seeing all the bugs, until it's properly patched.
I did that one and somehow I became the new master huntsman, a quest that sent me trapsing through the woods for nearly two hours searching for animals. It was not a fun time, lemme tell you. (♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ skittish roe-deer)
But while you wait he won't interrupt you (like it happens in other quests, while you wait in a specific place)
I'm pretty sure she said that they would meet at dawn, but nevertheless tried dusk already. I stood exactly in the spot and also looked around - didn't went further into any direction tho. If he's really close in the vicinity it seems he's just not there at no time of the day. Is he further away from that spot than just a few meters?
Great mission. Not bugged. Like the majority of the complaints. You get the result your actions merit. Simple as.
Dude. This mission is driving me insane. I found three of them on the boundaries of forest. Killed them and I couldn't reach. Frustration. Indeed. These buggers are real hard to find and you need all of them at once so as time progresses the ones you have are degrading.
Maybe look it up first. There are a lot of accounts of bugs regarding the three quests. Personally, I'm not able to begin the Sheep In Wolf's Clothing quest, because Andrew the Innkeeper simply won't come up with the dialoge option. Found out on reddit that I'm not the only one with this problem.
What I'm most curious about right now is how the 'Completionist'-Achievement works. I hope 'completed' doesn't mean we're not allowed to fail them. Because if not then these three quests definitely break it. From what I could find out so far there's no way to fulfill them all.
Btw if anyone has the same problem: I finally found Hanekin. In the evening (although I'm quite sure Margaret said dawn) you can find him a little bit further east from the road behind the bushes. I couldn't see him from where the quest marker placed me. Had to leave the area and go a little bit into the woods.
