When is a good time to diverge from the main questline?
Ive got my first horse and doing that mission associated with that so far ive found the pacing of the main questline keeps you on it. Is there going to be a lul anytime soon?

You can basically stop anytime you wish. Everyone will wait for you - the fugitive criminals "on the run" will be at the same places month later when you come back to the quest.

I didn't even care about the main questline.

You can diverge any time you want.

The bet time is when Bernard goes back to the training area in Rattay. That way you can use him to train you the master moves, and skill ups in weapons. If you quit before then you are selling your character short in combat development.

This. I'm not sure when he goes back but I noticed Benard back in Rattay during the main quest "a nest of vipers"

my advice is to take a break from the main quest and do what you want, i waited until lvl 50 to learn lockpicking and achemy and it bit me in the rear....It seems like the main quest is important and needs to be done asap! Just remember if it was real life it would take Henry days to complete those quests ....so don't hesitate to embark on some other adventures :D

Right after Train Hard, Fight Easy completes and before you complete the first objective of Keeping the Peace. There's a few time-sensitive objectives in that quest and the following one, so it's not cohesive to running around elsewhere.

Horrible answer. If you do this, you'll lose anything gain able from benard
I made a new game 2 days ago. ( I didnt finish the main quest in my previous build but I felt I went too fast in it so now Im taking my time )

I havent started the main quest yet, I think Iv spent about 3 weeks in-game time. (Keep in mind, I did spend some time in jail and that time is included in the 3 weeks )

So Id say you can diverge right at the start ! ;)

Iv made a name for myself as a thief with the millers, even killing one of the millers leader to make sure they knew not to f@*!k around with me. Iv stolen lots of stuff but Im still no master thief.

My next big heist is to go and steal from Lord Kunush or whatever his name is. He has this.. .gold incrusted book I want.

I have no horse so I have to walk everywhere, but Iv only stayed around Rattay so far. I made almost 500 Groschen in gains, without selling anything back yet. Now Im on my way to the market to sell all my stolen goods.

Iv decided that before I can steal from a Lord, Il need to educate myself a bit and get better at stealing. Once I sold everything, Im going to make my way to Ulhitz (I think it was there ) to learn how to read and Im going to have to walk a lot because I havent discovered it yet ( but Im trying not to use the fast travel at all ) . I might steal an horse on the way if I find one.

My pilgrimage to Ulhitz will include lots of thieving, I will become a literate master thief and then come back to Rattay to steal the book ! mouhahaha...ahahha...AHHAHAHAHAH.... Oh yes, that book will be mine, I will read it, and then sell it !! Niark niark niark...

After this, I will become clean, probably join a monastery, or a church, or try to do some good deeds around and atone for my sins. Then, I will start the main quest and try to be a better person.

I switched right at the Timmy mission. I had seen someone struggling with the camp bit on Twitch because his companions kept dying before he could do enough carnage for the mission to advance, so from there I went on to the bandit missions and other things.

After your mission to Neuhof is done and Bernard ist back in Rattay

the problem with doing side quests etc is you will become too OP and it become swiss cheese.

kind of wish there is like main quest intermissions. Like maybe 2 or 3 of them during the game to not break immersion. They give you a choice of how much time you think you will need until you start the next mission. Say Bernard says I need you to go kill those bandits and you have the choice and it says, Give me a week, Give me a few days, or Give me 2 weeks. Idk I know its a game but this is just a way to not break immersion in my opinion.
