The arabic book isnt in the forbidden closet

I unlock the forbidden closet in the monastrey, but i have no option to steal. What am i supposed to do?

It is there , but there's a bug .
I've encountered this myself.

When you open it for the 1st time with Siskin around , he grabs the book ( I think ).

When you open the cabinet for the 1st time with no one around , both books are there.

There's also a pretty profound bug so be careful.

I went to the monastery way ahead of the story on the restless spirit quest. When you open the cabinet, two books will literally appear on the shelf and they can be picked up like a normal item.

One is for a monastery side quest, (that you can't start until later in the game) and one for Restless Spirit. If you only take one, and then close the cabinet, the other will vanish. Pretty sure the items are loaded in together, so if you take one,close and reopen, the game won't be able to adjust the load.

Second, if you take the other book, a certain story event later on will prevent you from actually using it at all, so that too is problematic (meaning if you try and grab the book early in anticipation for the quest later, the story will force a situation where you fail that book quest).

I think the only reliable solution is to wait on grabbing either until you need both, meaning the quests you currently have demand both.

If someone has another solution, that would be awesome because currently this sucks.

nope, i get both books,early and when i need second one, i i just lockpick chest, where i left my things before i join to monks.. get that book.. and use that book in quest [/quote]


To your first point, it is absolutely a bug. I opened the cabinet saw two books, grabbed the Necronomicon, closed the cabinet. If I immediately repoen it again, the other book is permanently gone. I suppose its possible you just don't close the cabinet, but the game may eventually just do that while away and you'll run in to the same issue.

As for grabbing the book early, you may be right. I'm hesitant to try because if something doesn't work, I can't go back and fix it. More importantly, there have been reports of people trying this exact thing and all of the previous quest items are not in that chest you're describing.

i took both books when i broke in for a previous mission, now im fukt
