Correct, there is no way to Train Warfare directly - it is determined as a factor of all other combat skills combined - so Training you lowest combat skills with Bernard raises it quickest (credit to Tacticat for saying it so simply).
(and i'm not sure that Polearm skill factors in, but maybe someone will test ?)
You don't train that. Just go out into the wilds and pick fights with bandits.
