It is possible to save Theresa during the tutorial mission

I decided to goof around in the starting village and managed to get my stealth up to LV5. Why? I wanted to killed a Cuman or 3 before I jump on a horse. Although, it isn't need, one could alternatively hit the Cuman soldiers with Sir Radzig's Sword and Theresa runs inside inside her house and slams the door shut. What I ended up doing was sneak up on the main Cuman Captain and stealth kill him (need a dagger for this), quickly loot his entire body, grab a horse and flee. The gear the Cuman Captain wears is mid-tier armor. Doing so changes the dialogue with Lady Stephanie in Talmberg when you first meet her and when you speak to Theresa in Rattay. Henry states whether he killed one or not (depending if you killed one or not) and Lady Stephanie remarks ". . .like a valiant knight!"

Not bad for peasant!

P. S. Talking to the Talmberg soldiers in the looted Cuman Knight armor during the battlements rendezvous with Lord Divish and Sir Robard has a few of them address Henry as "Sir Knight."

Whistling for the house close to the soldier destracts them long enough for Theresa to run inside. That's what I did and yes, it changes the dialog with Stephanie. What I don't know is if you do not save Theresa, how that plays out later when Henry had the bullies to deal with later (if you know what I mean).

You can whistle or do basically anything which makes those soldiers come after you. Then you will be called like a valiant knight :)

I smashed my sword into the back of one the guys pinning Theresa against the door and then whistled for my horse. I just imagine Henry shouting some curse words at them as wacks the guy in the head and then hope on the horse and rides off getting them to chase him.

LOL, I completely ignored her and ran like hell, so I kinda feel bad now that I know we could have helped but then I guess we get to make it up to her later...

just give a quick jab on one of them is enough for her to slip inside and then you can make it to one of the horses before the get you

I decided to load my file again for the lols. I killed 5 Cumans Soldiers before I had to book it due to low HP. I basically fought naked and only equipped with Sir Radzig's sword. Enemy AI is quite lols and it isn't hard to kill NPCs. I had to start my entire game all over because of a game breaking bug where I couldn't advance the quest and if I tried to exit a door, I would float into space. :/

It's alright, I wasn't too far into the main questline anyhow.

Not much of a spoiler for NOT saving Theresa and then speaking to her later, Henry botches a conversation regarding Theresa's rape and she questions Henry on how he knew. I don't know if this affects her potential romance quest.

Also said you can sneak up and knock one of the soldiers out, bonus grabbing all his gear and then hoofing it out of there.

Grab the horse and them gallop back towards them will get their attention also.

Yes. Totally this! When you are about parallel to Theresa and the guards, whistle once or twice for your horse, Oleana.. One thing about this. Those guards will come after you with vengeance for disturbing them. All quests come with penalties. Be prepared to ride that horse like the wind!

That worked for you?! COOL! I can't equip the sword at all. no matter what I've tried. Otherwise, I would have given those guards 'What For' a long time ago!

I had the sword auto-equipped in my quest items. Gave one cuman a back-stab, and then rethunk my plan and rode a horse out of dodge. I was not equipped to deal with that...

Sir radzigs sword is a quest item. It will already be equipped when you start escaping skalitz, all you have to do is press 1 to unsheath it.

@ Help! Thank-you so much! I'll give it a go. I kept getting, 'You can't equip 'Specialty (quest) Items' in your Inventory. Now I can wreak havoc on th Bad Guys, LOL! We're all gamers here, so every little bit helps us all. But sorry guys for pushing this off topic.
