So...'Eat from Pot'
I get an absolute kick out of doing this! I get images of disgusting but absolutely delicious things being in there, like the pan drippings from a roast and bits of snout, tail, hoof and whatnot, swirling around in some oily red sauce/gravy

I actively go from town to town looking for these pots of slow cooking chunks of meats and gristle and imagine that each area has different things they add to these communal stews. The smaller villages use their cattle and pigs, the bigger cities toss all their leftover and stale tavern foods and overripe produce

When Im robbing houses I make sure to eat all their leftovers too, nothing goes to waste in Bohemia.

I kind of want eating from these pots to lower your reputation with the community you eat it in. It's gotta look a little bit off for this revered knightly warrior to come up and eat out of some random pot in the middle of town. If you want to keep high esteem with the locals you have to buy food and eat that instead, like any respectable man.

Dont you think instead it would form a bond with you and the locals when they see you a stranger eating/enjoying their common food? Its how all the explorers did it back in the day I thought?

Its not surf and turf but hey, these farmers and peasants arent living high on the hog either it looks like. If its good enough for them its good enough for me!

I love it too. I'm always like "I. DRINK.YOUR.MILKSHAKE!"

That's one way to look at it, but on the other hand... "This guy is hoarding Groschen like a bastard and he's here eating OUR food out of our pot? You gotta be ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ kidding me!"

Maybe a temporary lowering to your conversational authority (or whatever is represented by the crown in persuasions) instead of a reputation loss.

Almost true... you're forgetting a tiny detail there: the explorers ate it after the locals invited them to eat.
Here you basically walk/ride into town and pillage the next pot you find.

Also another thing you forget: almost all those pots are

A - inside a house, meaning even though the area isn't flagged, those pots are the private property of some (literally) poor sod who will have to starve now

or

B - at the Inn, which happens to run a buisness selling that food.

So imagine someone barging into your home and pillaging your fridge ... or someone entering a restaurant, going all the way to the kitchen, eating whatever he wants and leaving just like that ...
Back in the day almost everyone was dirt poor, most of them were starving for weeks or months since they barely had enough food to not starve to death. The situation was bad enough that many men "stole game" (aka they secretly hunted) to not starve despite the horrendous punishment.
Honestly if you touch a pot without being invited the surrounding villagers should attack ...

EDIT: also remember it's a time of war in the game.

Yea I drop game into them all the time but does that actually contribute back to the pot?
Im guessing it takes time for that stuff to cook up.
Sometimes I throw spirits in there cause why not.

Eating from pot makes buying food or hunting for food pointless, which IMO is not a good thing gameplay-wise...

You can throw in some poison and then eat it too.

Well, ppl asked for a realistic reaction and the realistic reaction would have been you in the pillory or gallows. In dire times of war they might even go as far as using you to refill the pot :P

I envy your ability to eat literally anything. Very versatile.

On the other hand I despise your thieving ways. Very degenerate.

Boiled meat (pig and cow) is a delicacy here in germany (at least in villages and smaller cities). There's pretty much anything in there that people don't buy at the butcher, like snout, heart, tongue, liver etc. and it's usually boiled for a whole day, and just salted and peppered.
Most people only like a few certain things though, I'm a fan of cheek, tongue and liver.
