Do I need to feed the Dogs for The Good Thief??

If so is it just the action of dropping the meat that will distract them or is there a Prompt for it?

I didn't interact with the dogs at all during the quest and completed it. They didn't seem to alert him at all.

There are several ways to finish/solve this quest, but I don't think giving the dogs food does anything unfortunately. I mean I haven't tried it but I heard that dropping meat in front of them doesn't do anything. But logically it should work since he tells you to do it.

I drop roast chicken right in front of them so one shut up and took it. But just tell him he was cheated out of some flour and he'll run to the miller and give you plenty of time

Okay just was curious since the game very much suggests that it was need to keep the dogs shut.

Is this questline worth it?

That works as well? Man there seem to be so many ways to do this quest lol. I did the good way and simply bought the ring from him
