Also, that part of the main quest line has something of a timer. If you wait long enough you'll get there -after- Runt's men rough up Reeky. IIRC he's dying and you can't arrest him, but you get the next step in the mission in any case.
Edit: regarding Reeky running about after he got arrested, my guess is that he was still in combat mode. Normally that conversation would happen after you defeat the henchmen, and Reeky is calm and contrite. He was not following the expected script after you got to Rattay. Interesting glitch.
Lol yeah, at first I wanted to be mad because of the difficulty of combat, but it backfired when I realized Henry won't get better unless I march his ass right up to Sir Bernard and fight in the pit :^)
On the topic of silliness, I tried to talk to Reeky's father after the quest ended, but I had no options to update him on Reeky's status. Ending the conversation had him repeat back to me to find Reeky, just like he did when I was on the case.
But that's nowhere near as silly as my course of actions when scouting the camp Sir Radzig would lead you and some men to siege. I kept getting caught trying to sneak around, so I stripped down to my skivvies, sprinted in to the camp, dodged every (and I mean EVERY) baddie, set all arrows on fire, and I managed to completely scout out the camp. By far, the most immersion-breaking thing to happen. There was nothing nearly as goofy as turning around to see 20+ bandits and cumans running at me in an orderly queue.
Huh, that's pretty cool. Didn't know that there were multiple endings to the quest! Makes me wonder what would've happened if I didn't request enough troops to the first big fight in the woods. Does Limpy always get desecrated, or is that on a time table as well?
And lol, that makes sense. This game has given me some Oblivion vibes, and it's bugginess is just adding to it.
