Madonna of Sasau (Happy Ending?)
I just finished my fifthe play-through of "Madonna of Sasau".
Can anyone provide guidance as to how to obtain the "happy ending"?
If correct, there are three possible outcomes, and I've only managed the two "tragic" scenarios.
Does it require 100% "correct" responses? Does it all hinge on the trial?

I had to look for this as well. You probably have not yet gotten Johanka to be contrite and ask forgiveness.
What I missed is that Mathias is no longer in Merhojed but in the Sassau infirmary. When you talk to Johanka and she refuses to back down you're to go back to Brother Nick and report. He asks 'Does she have no family or loved ones...?' This is the clue to go talk to Mathias. Just then, if you look, Mathias will awaken and ask for Johanka.

Also, aside getting Johanka to humble, you'd better be straight with the Bishop, snitch some goings on in the area to him (Snitched all things besides Goodwins drinking and told that Simon had vanished, but didn't tell why), don't hoard any money from quests, take glory for yourself or have sex as reward.

Also, no killing mobs of "Silencing witnesses" .

It's not 100 % , as I had some sex with Ledetchko maid after saving her, got little tonque lashing from inquisitor and didn't relaise to snitch sworsmiths wife having personal grudge against Johanka, but all ended well in the end.

I've done a play-through with no killing ande one in which I killed witnesses. No stealing, etc. and, as the 1920's American gangsters used- to say "sang like a bird" to the inquisitor. I also managed to get Johanka to recant but the best ending still was the one that ends with Johanka being taken away to a convent. Interesting...
Let me ask... shoud Henry believe Johanka or should be always be the skeptic? What about the actual trial? What approach should Henry takd?

Essentially , In trial you need to convince the Bishob that Johanka is a good chirstian (and so are you), who doesn't this for money, and simply had a lapse of judgement in preaching. If she got spanked, you messed somehow or missed something.

Did you read the manuscript you got from Godwin ? What all you told to Inquisitor about Johanka (I told all good things and that she was "simple village girl" . I'd guess mentioning the affair with Custodian might be worthwile, as it comes up anyhow. I didn't , and things still worked out , so I'm not sure.

At quests, be sure to return tailor his money (and get and throw away his dice), give councelor the credit for town donation, and give the WHOLE sum, don't have sex with Ledetchko maid, don't try to bribe bailif. And have the healthy jog from Sasau to Uzhitz on foot.

At trial stay supportive to Johanka, use the speech options whenever possible, be sure to mention how good she's been and always deny any accusations of donations or self-interest.

Also assure the Bishop that Johanka didn't bless anyone, act in the role of a priest, or receive and keep offerings from the towns folk. Adela can help with that as she supports that point of view. Be sure to use the information received from Goodwin's book supporting women being used by God to reprove men's vanity. When talking with Mathias (after reporting back to Brother Nicholas) he should give you something to remind Johanka of her 'previous' life and values. Also get the traveling merchant to testify in Johnaka's behave. The more positive testimony, the better - and rat out everyone to the Bishop as he already knows everything (IMO).

I also 'snitched' on everyone except Godwin to the inquisitor, was generally virtuous since starting the "Madonna...' missions, and I believed Johanka whenever given the choice to do so.

The Church really does not like anyone horning in on their turf, which being the only intercessor to Christ. I insisted that Johanka never took gifts or blessed anyone and I got all optional witnesses to testify (although I did not bribe the Bailiff, so that testimony was mixed).

Just as well, you can't bribe him. You try, he gets super pissed and snitches you to Bishop unless you pass a speech/charisma check.

Shows you how everyone's super afraid of the inquisitor.... game even punishes you if you go and assasinate him >:3 ....

What's the punishment for killing him ? I swore to God I'd offer him my dagger after the judgment but he vanishes (and somehow I thought devs made him vanished to prevent people like me from killing him).

Also it was hard refraining from bribing the bailiff but I didn't do it, I'm glad to know it wouldn't do you any favor it's good design.

You get an instant game over, wether people see you do the act or not.

Off topic, I somehow like how the Bishop was written in game. Instead of a typical WH 40K Inquisitor, he was really lenient towards Johanka - he was ready to let her go with a warning, but Johanka had to "Poke ice with a stick", and post-trial scene, I got the feeling he wanted to let Johanka go with as little punishment as possible , if she'd only relent. But if Johanka stays defiant, he has no choice but to be brutal to keep his employer, the pope, happy. So, kudos to WH writers.

I really learned the hard way - don't bring 21st Century amorality into playing this quest line. That was the most horrifying ending I've had in any game in years. Oh man....

Just got the good ending.

- You must complete every mission doing the right path (giving the tailor all the money back, donating the whole treasure, helping johanka and doing the right predication by foot without shoes XD)

- Its important that in the predication mission, at the end, the monk gives you a book, you have to read it since henry will recall in the judgement.

- You have to correct pass all the speech checks in the judgement.

- In the moment the inquisitor call the guy that johanka ♥♥♥♥♥♥ with, dont tell the guy forced her, its not correct, just say it was an error and she will confirm.

If you get in the video a sunny scene, congrazt, you fully saved Johanka and get the Compassion's Angel achievement.

PD: Killed a whole bandit camp with the predication robes, no armor and just a mace (more holy) and got the good ending, so killing and ♥♥♥♥ doesnt mind to get the good ending, just care the results of misssions.

The only thing i did differently to go from medium ending to good, was that i talked to johanka then the monk(brother niccodimas(horrible spelling)) THEN talked to Matthias then Joahanka again...

I'm fairly certain you have to talk to Matthias... he will wake up... but you wont get any prompt that he has awaken.

Sadly killing the Bish isn't an option :-(

I did the whole pilgrimage fully dressed and ironically had 8 bodies laying around me at the shrine where I was asking forgiveness for killing people. Got the scroll, got the "you're alright and send for me next time you hear voices" ending and sent her and Matt of to Pribyz.

Also, couldn't find Matthias because I couldn't imagine he'd go to sleep in the same room as the (ex)hooker.
