[Spoiler] Killing Rapota ended me in jail?

Hello Forum.

I think i misunderstand how this game works, and i would like to request some help.
In the main questline, Rapota asked me to kill him here, rather than hanging by the executioner, so i pulled out my sword and tried to end him. When i hit him however, he started running, and took 0 damage from my sword, and after slashing him 20 times and running after him, I get thrown into jail for 7 days... What? Did i miss something?

Also he asked you for it... It's still murder and if you are watched doing it you will be punished. Just that simple!

i think i've gotten away with punching him into submission (unarmed attacks only), since folks seem to respond differently to unarmed melee vs. weapon melee, but maybe not...

it could have just been a lucky location since there's not always a guard nearby... but weapon melee in the streets will usually bring them quickly.

i think i now default to turning him just to end him.

80 groschen? At this point of the story i am having around 5,6k groschen. Cannot care less for fines 🤣
Did you do only main story and you had this low ammount of money at this point?
