Don't mindlessly attack, use masterstrikes and stabs after head-hitting cliches
I accidentily cheezed it - and here's how:
One night, I was thieving in Rattay and stumbled upon a bunch of fancy knights, all fast asleep in the garden outside the north wall of the castle (the garden where Hans Capon sends you to pick flowers).
I couldn't resist: so much shiny gear! I knocked them all out in their sleep. Nobody noticed anything.
Very slowly, carrying hundreds of kilos of junk, I walked to my room at the Inn to the west of the castle.
Turns out it was the night before the tourney...
The next morning all the knights stood around the ring in their underwear!
Seeing that, of course I signed up.
They all fought without any gear at all. It doesn't get any easier than that.
I did it just the one time... but I'm not sure if it's cheating. I mean, it's just the sort of thing my Henry actually does!
he won the tournament and the game seems to be working as intended.
"High Level, Skilled Players"
Lol funny. All you need is the "master strike" ability and 1v1 combat is easy. All you need to do is Master Strike, smack them in the head, rinse repeat.
/\ This is win. Funniest thing I've read all week, man.
With longsword and no shield your master strikes should even defeat him very easily, you just need patience.
As soon as you are switched to a weapon with shield then master strikes won't deal any damage anymore but will often stagger , that's when you have to try and land an effective blow
if you have headcracker perk, try to hit the head, there is also a perk (forgot the tree) that depletes some of your opponent stamina when you block with a shield, it can be helpful when you have to use a shield though always remember that if you want to rely on master strikes to quickly win a combat having a shield is bad because you won't deal any damage anymore with your master strikes
I still need to learn the combo strikes though.
*feeling proud*
I've mentioned, complained, begged, and fussed about it but apparently it's a feature now.
