You totally will. There is a tourney once a week and win or lose, you will be able to try again without losing any of the special equipment rewards. You don't have to participate to each event either. The developpers were thoughtful enough to not force you to do this intensively until all rewards are gained. You can also bet on yourself when you meet Peshek, the Rattay Miller, and if you win the tourney, you get 5 times your bet. However, if you do so, you need to participate and win the next tourney, so only bet when you're at Rattay and ready to fight in it.
I also recommand you to be a fairly good fighter and decently equiped before attempting to win the tournament. Otherwise, you might have some troubles later.
I have since start of game and was offered to play in the Rattay Tourney.
You can disable it by removing the quest from being active to non active in the quest tab DB click it to remove the flag,
All participants receive the same armor and the same weapons. You don't need your own equipment. What you need is just knowledge of fencing and at least a little trained character.
If you wait until your strength is 15+ and you have the best armor, it's a piece of cake.
Too many people come into this game expecting that they are the Dragonborn
... eventually granting a complete set, to one of the best armors in the game.
