Does Mutt affect stealth?
I was wondering if the Mutt (the dog companion) affects my stealth (negatively) in any way? I play a stealth build, so having him bark and making enemies aware of me would be inconvenient :/

Nah, I've had him run directly into the middle of enemy camps barking and running circles! The guards don't care at all. He's as inconspicuous as Kassandra's eagle haha

I'm not 100% sure that barking does anything regarding stealth, but attacking sure does.

Yes, siccing him on enemies will alert them to you but if he's just running free, again, he won't alert anyone!

Well, that's fine. I have "stumbled' on old threads from searching, as well. The good news is that the threads are still there--they are not deleted.

But if updates are a concern, the way to deal with them is to start a new thread--not look for answers that no longer apply in threads that are no longer relevant. Starting a new thread gets you answers that are as new, or newer, than the updates, from people who are engaged in an updated version of the game in the here and now.

This is probably the best idea from a pragmatic standpoint. There are some people who might see from the thread start date that it's necroed and simply decide not to respond to it.

Starting a new thread after such an elapsed time frame is always the best option IMO.

in my experience that reaches beyond this thread's previous endpoint, no update has changed Mutt in this regard, i haven't seen in my games that Mutt would give away my own position. it always is me/my Henry if that happens. Mutt does sneak with me and even if he growls or barks, that's a warning for me, it does not give away my own position.
i did not test with aggressive behaviour on Mutt, i'll see about that, when the time comes to run KCD and finish the HC finally!

Well, that's been my experience as well. I think the folks having trouble with Mutt are, generally speaking, too impatient and in too much of a rush and just cannot be bothered with whatever little annoyances he might pose.

So it raises the question of why 2-1/2 years later someone feels the need to resurrect it...who are the necromancers talking to?
Simply because when other people are looking for an answer the old question will likely be the one they read so I see no harm in adding new information or asking a clarifying question that wasn't asked. Why should we have to start new threads with the same questions over and over again to either add information or to ask a clarifying question. I just don't get the logic of that.

I don't necessarily disagree with you but it raises the question--is this forum a billboard for your (or my) opinions... or a conversation?

In a thread that has been dead for even a year, the conversation is surely also dead and most of the time the original participants have moved on, so you're not really resurrecting a conversation or even adding to the original. You're just tacking up a new handbill.

But the real problem is that people see that the thread is 2 years old and pass it by... out of annoyance, if nothing else... so very little is gained.
