When To Start From The Ashes?

Still early on in the game, at chapter 10. Have 2.4k. Do I have enough money to start the dlc? Would like to make some money from doing stuff in it if possible early on.

You can start when talking to Marius and lord Divish I believe (I did it several months ago) and build according to the money you have, pay attention though if you go for the achievement of 2K, don't do the church first....

If you want to make money using that DLC, start it as early as possible, and build stuff that will net you income. I remember Tavern being the most profitable building in the end, but do not rebuild Church until you believe you are done with the game, that thing only sucks up income.

You can though. I ended with an income of just a hair under 2400 with everything built. It just takes a bit more care to get the income above the 2000 mark once you have the 'expense only' buildings down. Leaving the Ratthaus and Church to last give the easier time pushing the net income higher.

Okay thanks guys, but when can I actually start the quest? Do I have to be at a certain part in the main story to start the dlc?

Once you have dealt with Runt's band. About a short half way into the story, depending on how you have been approaching the side questing.

when you get the quest, dont start building untill you got about 20k or you will make a loss per day. after you build the loggers camp, bridge, trader, and one more of choice plus get all the imports trades paid for . then you will break even or small profit 20 a day. depending on some life choices during you make make a little more or less. I try and make about 24k before doing the start point on this quest,

I earn my starter income by doing the first and second towns bandits , clearing out your home town and near the smelter b the mines. then some random ambushes along the sasua road. (short distance to good paying traders)
