As an aside, you can fit both devices and masterstrikes training with Bernard in the morning/early afternoon after seeing the Bailiff, collecting your 'gear' and before seeing Nightingale - and still be ready for Hans Capon on the next dawn - as early as it is possible to do so, if you trained your combat skills during the prologue to a minimal standard of competence and got brought to standard by Bernard and Hans during 'train hard, fight easy'.
