HD Texture Pack will not install

I've read all the instructions on what to do: click download, it loads the game, close the game, restart Steam and it is supposed to show up in the middle of the game page where the DLC usually shows up in other games but it does not. I've tried it several times now to no avail. Any ideas?

Same thing is happening to me. I'm gonna try re installing the game with the DLC's this time and hope it it works.

I'm on the freeplay does that include the DLCS? When I hit the button at the page for high res textures it launches the game, but the option is still not available ingame

I'm playing the free weekend too, and if I can't see it with the HD textures, I'm not interested.

Same. I don't think you can get any dlc with the free weekend, even the free ones which is a real bummer for me. If you buy the game you should have a dlc tab in properties, but with the free version it appears you do not. I don't really care, I haven't got a crap ton of time in the game, I'm not gonna spoil it but I will say I am just getting past the beginning credits and I really like it so far but other than a bunch of annoying bugs I have encountered. "Which I will say can be fixed by simply restarting the game, so you will want to download the unlimited saves mod as it is very necessary." I am really enjoying the game so far, as it appears you can do whatever BUT I have come to notice that the ai in this game are pretty much gods. Say your in a scenario and you wanted to run away, you can actually look back as your stamina is almost out and the ai that is chasing you is either right on your ass or moving at god like speed so good luck with running, same while on horse back. Also I have come into a couple of battles where an ai just two hits me even on a parry I die, but that may have just been a scripted moment in the game that you cannot escape as the end of the very first part of the game is. "Which I will say you haven't even begun the game yet." Or it could be that when you start the game your character is just a ♥♥♥♥♥. So really I don't know what this game holds and I can't leave a review on it until I have a good bit of game play, but as it stands I wouldn't buy this game right now even on sale for more than 20 bucks u.s after tax including all the dlc just for the bugs and op ai, and fyi the ai might not be that bad I don't know as I haven't gone that far in the game, I'm just saying that because I read a post saying a recent update made the ai god like. So all I can say is play the game without the hd pack and see if you like it. I think the graphics are ok but I would have to see what the hd pack looks like before I bought the game, as I like really good graphics and I didn't really see a texture pack on nexus, but I didn't look that hard. There are shader packs though so if your looking to improve the look of the game you guys might wan't to start with those. By the way the crappy new mod manager on nexus called vortex does work with this game and it's pretty simple to learn, so If you don't want to do mods manually get that and it makes it much easier, All mods won't say mod manager download but most of the good ones like unlimited save are, just make sure you enable the mods after you install them or they wont work.

I don't understand why they don't just include it in the base game and have the option to turn it on or off in-game. Ridiculous that it's not available in the free weekend.

I just decided to purchase the game today. After I did I was immediately able to download the HD texture pack. So yes it seems for the free weekend they blocked access to all the dlc for people trying out the game.

Once you download it, turn on HD textures in the settings.

It doesn't matter, I bought the game too even against my better judgement and the hd texture pack really looks no different than the base game from what I can see.
