In the "Manage Mods" menu, what are you seeing? If no files are showing up in the Wayward folder, it may be a persmissions issue. What operating system are you running?
In manage mods I only see the tutorial mod. My operating system is Win 7 Pro 64 bit

This hasn't been reported before and we don't really know what could be causing this, so we'll need some more information from you if you are willing.

We'll need to see your logs:

Located in Steam's Wayward folder, within the "logs" folder you should see wayward.log. You can quickly get here in-game by going into Options, and then clicking the "Open Logs Folder" under the Developer section. Either use a service like pastebin.com to post the contents of it, or send the file directly to contact@unlok.ca

And just to confirm, after subscribing, you are seeing no new folders appear within the workshop/mods folder (in the Wayward directory)?

Thanks!
Correct... no new folders in the MODS folder after subscribing. It's like I subscribe to nothingness. I'll email the logs shortly.
Sent, thank you for looking inot this.

So, the only error seems to be:

error initializing steam API

Which means, the Steam API is seemingly unable to connect to your computer and/or Wayward. Upon some research, it looks like this happens with a lot of games, and isn't really related specifically to Wayward, but Steam in general. Some proposed solutions:

1) Click the "Verify the integrity of game cache..." button that is located within the properties of Wayward in your Steam library.

2) Delete the contents of the Wayward folder (minus any save game data you have, basically, everything but the "save" folder). Alternatively, just export any important save data you have from in-game. After that, click the "Verify integrity of game cache..." as suggested in step 1.

3) Launch Steam in offline mode, then relaunch it in online mode.

4) Uninstalling and reinstalling Wayward completely from Steam using it's built-in tools.

5) Try out the new beta 2.1 of Wayward. Details on how to do that here: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=721479594
6) Reinstall Steam completely if this is happening to other games with Workshop support. Reinstall the game then.

After each solution, make sure to try to subscribe to mods and relaunch the game to see if it had any effect. Unfortunately this seems to be a Steam-specific issue, so contacting support if none of these work might be an alternative solution.
