You can set up an "auto-use" action to your action bar for pick-up item or pick-up all items. This no longer uses a turn up because it's strictly moving items which isn't supposed to cost a turn.

Will we be able to enable pickup on walk in the future please? its pretty tedious to have to bring up the menu every time :( or at least pick up on idle maybe. And how can we disable auto sort? it used to be in the gameplay settings (o button)

The process Drathy described would make it automatic, with the only downside being the loss of one action bar slot. I'm not fully sure what you mean by "disable auto-sort". All containers are sorted in one way or another. If you aren't happy with the sort that is applied, you can change it and it will stay that way.

You can set the drop down menu to custom, or simply drag an item manually to another place in the inventory. Unfortunately you have to do it for each container.

The default sort is recent, though, which more or less feels like what would be desired by having "no sort" anyway.

My only problem is that i cant toggle some of the new things, like i would toggle on auto sort when i was doing a lot of mining or gathering but keep it at custom whenever i was doing anything else, as for picking up items being entirely disabled by walking bothers me quite a lot, can we have a toggle for that back in the gameplay settings please, i really liked being able to toggle to pick up on walk and how it currently is to ignore items on walking, i need the toggle please ;-;
Also for some reason my gf would very often be forced to walk onto fire when we both have the warn on dangerous action button enabled, something is forcing her to walk twice in a direction, and i would like to turn off drag and drop item on a destination or whatever its called, we both liked drag and dropping items on the ground and now that makes us walk far off screen to drop the item where we dragged, personally its cool thats been added but its very daunting to use since it skips many turns to do so, can accidentally kill yourself utilizing that, basically adding a toggle for all of these things in the gameplay menu (o menu) would be what a lot of us needs!!, also i tried changing the keybind for picking up all items infront but it only changes it whenever i have to forcefully open the action menu with items infront of me, i cant just press the button whenever im facing an item so its also tedious, i just mainly want to be able to toggle pickup on walk :(

If there is a water puddle on the tile, it can make you slip and move into fire.

Ahh yes, water puddles have a chance to make you slip now and ice almost always does. The ice can be annoying in caves since you can slip so far. Apparently metal boots can prevent the slipping.

Oh no we were in grassland starter island, not a single snow or ice block or puddle, i would watch her walk close to the fire and then be forced to walk twice and without a warning she would step in the fire.
Previously i would think its her ms setting being changed so that movements happen quickly but after screen sharing and helping her manage the settings it would still happen, and no it wasnt her lagging she was the host and has a good gaming pc

It's been a while since I've checked to be sure, but I would swear metal boots slip. For certain the fur ones stop you from slipping, and I often wear them for that purpose.

Not necessarily trying to correct you, but many times if you craft using liquids there will be splashes of liquid "on" the tile (sort of like the blood splats from combat). These are what is meant by puddles causing you to slip.

One thing I learned today by accident about slipping: Not all surfaces are slippy when wet (aka. have a puddle on it). Stone and dirt have a slip chance, while sand and gravel do not. So even before you can get yourself proper boots you can put sand/gravel around your campfire (or just place it on the beach) to prevent you from slipping.

Wait, they do? That would make sense. I was confused as to why it would be metal ones rather than fur but I swear one of the devs said to use the metal ones.
