any tips on dealing with them?? i cant seem to go underground without 3 coming at me in 25+ turns so end up running

Bark armor, shield, and attack them with a lit bark torch in your main hand. Also have some healing items and only take on one at a time. Get in a few hits, then back off and heal if you need to.

Make all 3 pieces of Fur Armor and tank them.

Not going underground is another option. The underground doesnt really has that much to offer imo. I would recommend to explore another island first to get iron or copper gear. Ghosts are not the only danger down there.
