Treasure Map

So I've been digging on the spot that is "the exact location" of a treasure according to a treasure map I've found and decipered. I've dug all the spots around it and the exact spot extensively. All it does is open up either water, or a cave entrance. (Digging all around in the cave doesn't reveal anything either).

I've tried plugging the water with soil and redigging multiple times in all directions, and re-decipering the map, but I'm not finding anything other than soil, an occassional worm, cave entrance and finally water that I can't dig in any further.

Am I missing something? I've worn out a legendary shovel three times digging, so its not for a lack of trying....

Hey there, are you using the "Gather Treasure" action on your shovel?

yeah you need to use your shovel or fishing net, click on it and use the 'gather treasure' option, using the quickslot binding key won't dig up the treasure.
