Faster way is craft a anti-poison item (medicine + water), harvest all quickly and drink.

What exactly do you do with poison ivy anyway?

If you want to harvest poison-ivy,one safer way is using some sharpened-tool instead of rare hand.If you want to cure the poison buff, you can drink medicine water which made by two medicine things(such as tree-root),or just wait to the buff disappointed itself.
In fact,I do not konw how to use poison-ivy.Though i have many of them in wooden chest already.

I don't think there's currently a 100% safe way to remove or harvest poison ivy. You can use the leafs as compost though.

Is that the only use for it at the moment? The free documentation/site doesn't have it listed.

Compost and for stoking fires. That's about it I think.

really? you can use poison ivy to stoke a fire? if we're looking to make the game as realistic as possible, doing that should give you a poison DOT that stacks every minute you spend adjacent to the fire.

nearly everyone on the planet is allergic to poison ivy, the oil(what causes the allergic reaction) on the plant persists long after it dies, and if the plant is burned the oil aerosolizes and anyone standing nearby will breathe them in.

A person who is seriously allergic to poison ivy will usually be dead within 5-10 minutes after inhalation. Those who have moderate to slight allergic reactions will usually die within an hour or 2. People who are resistant to poison ivy and do not react when the oil gets on their skin can still die from inhaling the smoke, it just takes longer. This assumes they do not recieve medical attention in time.

I'm not joking here, poison ivy is deadly deadly stuff if thrown on a fire.

It would be interesting to see the use of the poison in a dart if they ever decide to include a blow dart weapon into the game, but currently I think the best use although I haven't tried it is as a natural trap for the creatures in the game. Plant them at the sides of your walls or gates and have the creatures step on them. I'm not sure if the creatures can get poisoned as well but if I remember correctly your character can.
