Elf Mage

Sorry, this is the only thing I cannot find how to do. Where in the world can you attract one and how do you do it? I know druid and wanderers, but not how to get the damn mage

Trading people to silveroak after replanting the cosmic tree. It will give you either a forest elf druid or an elven mage, each time.

wait, so you can't get it before you finished the main quest basically?

I believe you can get them through some quests - but they may be available only through certain deities.

But the Cosmic Tree quest can be finished in 150 turns or so, and I don't stop playing until I finish the Giants quest anyways - which I often take 600-plus turns to finish in a very leisured pace.

Personally Im looking for more challange now, at 350% game just did giants with 315 turns. And as about the elf mage, within my 50 or so games I have seen him join once though some event (not sure what it was anymore ... maybe the wondering elf who visits ur village and wants 10 food).

Do you know what increases the chance of getting Elf Wanderers? Or is it just random?

Elf attraction in buildings can get them but its random then. You can get them from an event where you meet one who looks weak or something. You can ignore him, offer food or try to help. If you have enough magic users you can sence dark magic on him and can use hex challage / winning it mean he/she will join you. Playing Veles offers one more option but that wont make him join you, just gives you some stat boost and 2 curses.

Yeah, I know about the recruitment through the event system. But they can be recruited via Elven Wood buildings? Wow, I don't think I have ever attracted an Elven Wanderer, but perhaps I may have and forgotten about it, since most of my playhours is from prior to DLC - which is too long ago for an old man like me to remember! ;)
