I believe you can get them through some quests - but they may be available only through certain deities.
But the Cosmic Tree quest can be finished in 150 turns or so, and I don't stop playing until I finish the Giants quest anyways - which I often take 600-plus turns to finish in a very leisured pace.
Do you know what increases the chance of getting Elf Wanderers? Or is it just random?
Yeah, I know about the recruitment through the event system. But they can be recruited via Elven Wood buildings? Wow, I don't think I have ever attracted an Elven Wanderer, but perhaps I may have and forgotten about it, since most of my playhours is from prior to DLC - which is too long ago for an old man like me to remember! ;)
