The only time this is not true is in events, when sometimes there will be a difference (meet some bandits and get a 2-skull social challenge to talk them down or 3-skull fight to murder them all, for example; generally the fight option will be harder but provide greater rewards). Sometimes those challenges are "gated" too (e.g. get choice of 2-skull tactics or 3-skull fight, choose tactics and win and you will get the choice to either end the event or now do the fight at 2-skull level because you tactically knocked out some of the opponents).
Ive seen some of those events ur talking about. with some orce, either fight them at like 4 skulls or negotiate at like 2 skulls.
but in retrospect i guess it makes sense that whether i go tactics or fight, the 3 skull challenge will still be just as "hard" to prevent the game from being to easy (like in the horde i mentioned) i had to sort out my army to be good enough in either tactics or sneak before i could take them on, and rightly so.
thanks, yes i saw that today with some scavengers on a tower. i got mroe out of it doing social then fighting, compared to slavers where i just fought and didnt social first
Social is an exception to the rule. In social challenges you do fight the actual enemy cards, so its often the easiest challenge. Those Orc Warriors with very high combat stats, will have very low Social stats.
With enemies on the map that arent event, it always shows the same amount of skulls for each challenge type, but because of the above the Social challenge is usually much easier.
cool thanks! :) had a "fight" with a witch now and just tried the social and worked really well, shame
and now just had a part in the deity quest where i had to fight a 4 skull social quest.. vs skeletons, shame what a joke :D
