The Surge

The Surge

The game crashes on the title screen.
This is for the Wins 10 version btw, this might not be the right place to ask, but the support page on Focus Home Interactive technical support sends me here.

Basically the game crashes on the title screen, where it says press space to continue. I press space, the game stutters at 1-2 FPS once or twice, and then an error message appears that says TheSurge.exe has stopped working, and the game crashes.

I've tried so many things to get it to work. From updating my GPU drivers, to literally reinstalling Windows 10. Nothing seems to stop the crashing. Oddly The Surge 2 seems to work OK from what I've tried of it, from installing it from Xbox Gamepass.

I know The Surge worked months ago. When it was still on Gamepass, I installed it to make sure it'd run on my computer, and it seemed fine then. But now that I want to actually play it after buying it months later, it's stopped working.

Can anyone help me? Been trying for the last couple days to get it to work.
