and i agree, it would fit better to the last area. but maybe the astronaut was in a rocket, which ended in this scrapyard, who knows ;)
It does make the first area a bit more easy, as it gives MK II material. But personally I think the bigger problem is, that even in the base game, there was to may Single rig weapons put into the first area (3+1 out of 6+1 in the game) and whit it they just added another one.
MK II components are not that much od a problem as enemies wearing these are become common rather early in to the 2nd area.
As later balance goes. Angel gear is not that great, takes a lot of CP and its bonus is good only for Codename weapons (there are 11 in the game, 6 of them were added by the free DLCs) a there are more interesting armor sets.
IMHO the 2nd paid DLC (GBA) is far worse when it comes to breaking the base games intended balance
If you take your time, you should have three sets of armor, 2 one handed weapons, one twin mounted weapon, three single mounted weapons, 1 heavy weapon and 1 staff weapon all in MkII before fighting the area boss and leaving the place. You should even have enougth scrap to upgrade your core enought to use the Angel and all the best implants you can mount on your rig.
Dodge away, learn his patterns, then with using a single rig weapon, run at him for a slide attack, then dodge back out. Do this untill he kneels down to heal, then execute him. It's a cowardly way, but it's extreemly easy. Just be sure there's no more drones around.
Another is, block any non leaping of the astronaut attack with a single rig equipped, then immediatly counterattack while still holding block. The upswing, followed by a downswing on a human opponent will always stagger. Just dont hold block to long, because it drains stamina.
just let him heal as he only does that once.
if you learn spaceing on this guy you can take him down as soon as you get your core back (thats when he spawns inside that empty rocket shell in the very first area with the weak drones).
this can give you codename engelheart stupidly early. and this weapons makes everything includeing pax a joke and then you can get pax v2.0 which is just better in very way on most enemies. i always kill him with the starting pipe to get his weapon (remember to aim for the weapon arm with all attacks and perform a finisher)
he is way tougher than all other enemies (excludeing the boss) on the first area but he is nowhere near OP. think of him like a black knight from dork meme souls. except that these 2 guys respawn.
The biggest thing if you really are trying to min max goliath gear is that you don't have to worry about poison gas wearing the set.
