1: Bait the enemy into an attack while you backpeddle
2: Wait until they complete an attack sequence with an obvious opening at the end
3: Dash in, use your quickest attack (usually the dash forward move) then dash back
4: Repeat until the enemy is dead
Pro tip: If there are two or more enemies just dash in without provoking an attack then dash out, it's usually quick enough anyway.
I was using either heavy duty or single rigged weapons for most of the game and this works.
Now you might be thinking "but that sounds really cheesy and boring and I want to use my full moveset and combos!" to which I'd say yes but tough luck because this is the only way to not get hit.
2 Pay attention to what your enemy drops (what MK components) You might find some are higher then others and worth farming on. Like the two Guards that you talk about. They are a MK III enemy, in an area with mostly MK II material.
3 Read the tooltips in the medbay and assembly unit. Aslo a thing many poeple forget that can help a lot.
4 You are not forced to use ane weapon tipy. Try them all out, or even mark two different weapons as your favorite. It will help against some enemies.
By the time they recover from your initial stagger, your big hits in the combo break their stability again, often letting you go right into a finisher and grabbing you the part you want. Personally I find this method is way better than only doing dash attacks and also way more fun, but it requires a bit better knowledge of your weapon combos and enemy tendencies.
Finishers are extremely useful in this game. They make you invincible for the whole animation, protecting against swarming hordes, and add a multiplier onto xp until you use medichair/die. Materials from enemies are very useful for upgrading your gear. Eventually when you get the aggression implant you can life steal a lot every time you perform finishers as well.
It lets you get more scrap/body parts as opposed to using the energy to healing implant, though I often use both as the situation demands.
You don't have to fight the security officers for quite a while (like almost 10 hours.) though they have some really nice armor + staff if you manage to beat them. They won't respawn after you kill them though, so you only get 1 shot per guy.
Thanks guys once again
