Can you Fail Quests?
- Like in Dark Souls? There's this guy wanting medicine or whatever, i'm past the flamey-bot Boss, and I didn't come across what he wanted, so, question is, if it's a thing you can fail, what's the thing that triggers a fail state on it?

- Also is there a Fast Travel system? Or Do I have to manually get my metal bottom back to the first Area to open some stuff that was behind a Core number i hadn't achieved yet?

I am only a bit farther than you but I have not found a way to fail quests. It might just be extra lore/story you can earn or it might set a moral ending for you. Not sure about that yet.

As for fast travel, it doesn't seem like there is on yet. I can sort of see a way that there might be something, but for now it doesn't look like there is a fast travel system.

Hopefully someone with more experience or that has completed the game knows more.

No I don't think you can fail anything since you can go back and forth from other areas with the trains. Spoiler about the side quest ==> The medicine is in the next area btw so you didn't miss anything. But you can chose not to complete them if they're side quests and keep the medicine but it isn't that great honestly so I would just hand it over the first time through the game.

Also there are shortcuts you can open up by overloading those things with numbers on them but yea you kind of have to run everywhere, it's a sandbox setup so just make a mental map if you can or just run a lot until you figure it out.

That's good to know, and I guess the areas are kinda very tight and small when push comes to shove.
And the quest thing is good to know, I was avoiding going to the next area cause I thought that was gonna be the fail flag, i'll explore with a bit more of ease now, thanks!

Just to add a little more helpful info;

Davey, the guy who wants medicine, rewards you if you hand it over. If you don't give it to him he will leave OPS and you'll encounter him later but the quest will be over.

And just so you don't miss it (like I do every single time) after you complete the main story objective in the next area double back into the greenhouse by the stage. You'll be able to open a door in there.

For the other NPC's; you can "fail" their quest lines... but it won't change a lot.

Irina asks for a staff from the security guards by the gates and later gear from them. Failing to do this makes you miss a weapon.

Jo (a NPC who will talk to you from a vent. First near Firebug and again before the next boss) asks for Tech Scrap several times. If you gave this to her, you can find her base in a further area and pickup a weapon there. Later on, she'll ask for it back or for more tech scrap. The choice you pick changes the resolution.

You will also encounter a researcher who seems a bit unhinged. Agree with him for a chance at a weapon later. And finally, you'll meet a guy who wants you to find his daughter. Make sure to finish helping him before moving on to get a reward.

Lastly, sadly no fast travel. Just more and more shortcuts that loop back.

Damn,I missed this Jo fella :(

Also, on that challenge wild west thing, what the f do i do if the boss has this stupid laser thing? first time it was a machine gun that also hurt him, second time is these stupid lasers that's impossible to dodge properly and seems to love to happen when theres an opening on the boss. It's really annoying me

I accidentally killed her outside that door before the room where you pick up the second rig type. Kinda stupid as with some other stuff in this game, the devs positioned an enemy crossing just inside that doorway. As her and I spoke, I stepped just to the side enough to trigger that guy and the fight was on. And since she was standing right there, I accidentally smacked her with the PAX, which of course caused here to also come after me.

Does this mean I missed out on something important?

The reward for her quest line is a special staff. Not a bad one but not the best in the game. You can get it in NG+ by doing the quest again, or random on NG+ mobs

There is no Fast stravell in the sence of "take me to medbay at level 2" but all areas are linked to CPB and traversing it is rather fast once fully oppened.
Also the 2nd DLC, once the final level is reached) can work as a transition hub
