Strategy for just getting crafting components?
Greetings,

I'm only in the first are of the game, but I need parts to craft my body and head sets—I have the schematics, just not enough crafting material.

What I want to know is, In order to get crafting materials, is it better to target a body part (any part in particular?) or does it not matter if you just target the enemy? Which method will give a better yield for crafting material?

Thanks.

Okay, so basically go after the armor area of which you need crafting materials. Got it. Thanks.

For the entirety of the game, you will want to target body parts to upgrade your gear.. Even after youve gotten that specific item.. You will need the materials (they automatically break down into components next time you goto crafting station) to upgrade them to higher ranks..

Right arm always gives arm armor mat, and 3 weapon mats.. You get 1 armor mat for each one you cut off (except what you find in fixed locations), and 3 from weapons..

Aquiring the same boss weapon in NG+ gets you Nano Cores (I read in a dev post, but havent yet tried myself)

You need to cut off prefered piece of armor for mats. To do this you need first do enought dmg to that part (if enemy have this part it will glow yellow). After enough dmg you need to low enemy hp and finish him (got enough energy for that)

Okay, now since I am wearing Lynx armor, will it still be of benefit towards upgrading my Lynx armor to hack off rhino pieces? I know it will always be beneficial to have rhino gear in case you want it down the road, but I'm a Dex/agility/speed character, so that's my concentration.

All the equipment uses the same materials, so yes, hacking up rhino and other units is still to your advantage.

But warning, when you use scrap to craft armor, all armor, you also have less scrap to level up your energy level. And in late game, leveling up energy is vital because implants and armor take massive energy account. Idealy, you must craftup 1 or 2 armor and save the rest for leveling energy to 140/150 and more to use all best implants and armor like bloodied proteus, black cerberus, etc
