Firebug's legs

So.. for whatever ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reason, I decided to get all the 2.0 boss weapons. As wiki states, I have to remove all of the firebug's legs... I cant remove the last one! The only way I found to hit his legs in phase 2, is letting him smack me with it(leg-spinny attack), since they are too high to reach otherwise. I remove 2 this way, and... last one is unable to be selected, for some reason, and he never seems to attack with it, so I jump around him like an idiot, getting hit by all the other attacks.
The question is: Why would everyone do that? This mechanic is horrible! Thanks. Im calmer now.
Seriously tho, how do you remove it?

I got the weapon, after like, 25 attempts where I decided to let it kill me, and try again.

Apparently. I DID remove the last leg, and it was only showing as attached. Thats why I couldnt cut it. And here I was wondering - "Huh, it did recoiling animation, but It seems I didnt cut the leg".

That was one badly spent evening. Probably not gonna even use the bloody thing, since proficiencies say Im supposed to use other class.

There appears to be a bug where you will break a leg, but due to another animation paying it gets 'stuck'. if you actually look closely (ha ha, like most people are going to feel comfortable sticking that close to firebug) you can see that the broken limb is offset slightly from its normal connection.

Also, don't stress over proficiency, it barely matters in your first run, and doesn't start to be important until you've got 20 or more prof anyway. Feel free to play around with whatever weapons you feel like using.
