Irina side quest issue
I'm in Central Production for the third time, and I met Irina near the Medbay. While I was talking to her, one of the the enemies near the security door aggro'd me near the end of the conversation, and hit her in the process.

She didn't die, she just blinked out of existence, and now she's gone forever. I tried reloading a save and she just isn't there. Is that sidequest just botched now?

i didn't understood one single of these side quest in the Surge ^^ in this particular sidequest, i encountered the same, though i was the one who accidently hit her and she got mad at me. she died in a fight with others. kinda stupid

i still wonder why i was never able to give davey his medicine, though i had it collected. i wasn't able to talk to him, the talk button simply disappeared?!

All of the NPC's in the game are killable - it's just something you learn on accident in your first playthrough and avoid in all the rest. :-)

The issue is that she didn't die. She just disappeared. No corpse, no hit dialogue on strike, nothing. I get that NPCs are killable, but she got hit exactly once, then ceased to exist.

It wouldn't have really mattered if she'd aggro'ed on you or the enemy - she still would have died and there's nothing you can do about it. :-(

In the first version of the game (before the patches), she would aggro and fight them, but she always loses the fight.

You're evading the point, and it isn't helping. I was standing directly next to her and didn't even get the opportunity to try to stop it. If NPCs outright vanish and completely halt quest progress, that seems like a significant problem to me. Saying it doesn't matter doesn't change the fact that a glitch made it so that content is blocked out unless I restart my run.

My point is that the "glitch" didn't change anything - if she'd fought the enemy, he would killed her. If you'd jumped in to help, she'd have aggroed on you after you killed him, and you'd have been forced to kill her yourself (which is what happened to me in my first playthrough). And yes, I tried to avoid killing her - I ran back to ops and reset the zone, and I even exited the game and restarted, but when I got back to where she was, she was waiting for me with blood in her eyes.

The moment Irina got involved in the fight, she was as good as dead - whether the enemy kills her, you kill her, or she glitches out, she is gone from your game for this particular playthrough.

They really ought to make quest/story NPC's exempt from combat, but until they do we're stuck with what they've given us.

If she despawned before you could give her what she asked for she will not be back. If you did give it to her but were still in the ending conversation her quest will continue.

The conversations do not matter much. I am doing a playthrough where I choose all the negative answers, often just saying No, goodbye. Sometimes, their responses are quite funny (the first drone gets really upset if you tell him to buzz off!).

If necessary for the plot, they will somehow make me do what I have to do. In the NPC quests they always say: I will be here if you change your mind.

Edit: I just had something similar happen when I was in Maddy's room. The proteus from two rooms away came in, Maddy screamed: Go away, you're a bad man. Then she despawned. Alec Norris had also disappeared when I got back to Ops.
