Character will not cut off appropriate body part selected?
Sometimes when I try to do an execution, they'll repeatedly just use a "full body" execution even if I double check to make sure I'm selecting the right part. Currently happened twice so far and it seems to continue to happen until I reset the game. Right now, trying to farm Arm Gear+Tungsten from an MG Cerberus right outside OPS in R&D. I select their right arm, do damage till the execution prompt comes up but then Warren just slices them in half for some reason instead of cutting off their arm.
EDIT: It seems to occur mostly with the right arm of enemies, I'm targeting his left arm now and it's performing the correct execution.

Uhm, the game says you need to damage the selected part to cut said part off.
The game as well says that sometimes the moveset does not allow to hit the selected part.

When i read the second hint in loading screen i started to select unprotected body parts (only arm or leg) since you get blue damage numbers when hitting them, you can easily see how you still get yellow numbers with certain weapons and combos.
So, try other combos and watch your moveset.

No I'm not talking about getting a part from them I know about that, I mean when they perform the execution, WITH a proper part selected(arm/leg/body/head), they instead perform an execution as though you didn't select a body part to begin with(i.e. when you just hard lock-on to their body and the damage numbers come up white).

yes he meant that too if the damage dealt to said bodypart the execution will not detach said bodypart (and about half of the times also not perform the expected execution)

No, I've had executions detach body parts and not get a part from them, that doesn't bother me. However there's been plenty of times I've HIT the part targeted, used execution, and then they do a "full body" execution. And almost ALWAYS on the right arm.

If you do not get parts once you've cut something, you've most likely cut an unarmored part.
If you did not get parts although you focused your attacks, that is related to hit detection. The weapons do go through more than one part once they hit the enemies body. So if you attack the left arm from the right, your main damage will be focused on the right arm, afterwards the body and last but not least the left arm (which gets the lowest damage). That is also why we went with horizontal / vertical attacks instead of heavy / light (if you keep the buttons pressed, the attacks will be charged).

If the game cannot tell which part got the most damage because more parts got equal or similiar damage, you'll get a regular finisher which will cut no part.

That LAST bit is it then, would explain it. Thought it was a damn bug all this time.

A problem like this to me also and it turned out to be because I had turned off "sticky targeting" in the options - I'd select a limb and focus on it, but after the first hit the game would autotarget the main full-body and I'd very rarely get a targeted finishing move.

Re-enabling sticky targeting in the options fixed it right away for me.
