Scarab vs. Rhino Legs?
So, got the Scarab Legs, only to find that they're flat out worse than the Rhino Legs in every way. Same defense at all ranks, but +1 Energy Cost, less stability and +5% more stamina use. Literally the only reason to use them instead of the Rhino Legs is for the set bonus.

Is this a bug or something? Especially since the other parts have better armor and speed than the Rhino, but less stability and more energy cost. I'd think that the legs should also be a bit faster and have better defense. Or is the Scarab Set bonus just that awesome that it needs something to balance it? Or are they just terribly balanced?

They aren't even the same type of armor. The Scarab set is medium armor, while Rhino is heavy.
It's set bonus also boosts vital injectors, which is really useful when combined with stacking multiple HP boosts.

Goliath (heavy) armour isn't worth wearing in my opinion, It gives very little benefit and takes way too much stamina. Sentinel (medium) gives much the same protection with better overall benefits. Hell, even Operator (light) armour has better benefits!

I went through the first play through wearing, upgraded where possible, MG Gorgon armour only I'm into NG+ and still using and upgrading it, with a small time in Scarab gear until I could farm it. I also used Elite Hazard and Chrysalis gear for their set bonuses at appropriate times.

As Jahtzee says they are different armour classes so comparisons can't be made.

I'm only making comparisons due to the fact that one is objectively worse than the other, apart from their differing set bonuses. I'm also making the comparison of the legs with the rest of the gear, where the legs inexplicably abandon the idea of "More defense and speed, less stability" for "Same defense, less speed, less stability." It's just kind of weird to the point I thought that something weird happened in the latest patch for it.

But if that's how they're supposed to be, I guess it's just the cost of entry for the set bonus then.

Wait, the in-game description just says it improves the Vital Boosts. Is that what you meant, or does it also improve Vital Injectors?
