Absolutely pointless curiosity about "the surgery"
Just wondering, the rig is supposed to be grafted to the very flesh and bone of the employees. It is called a surgery and requires sedation. Why is it applied with clothes on? I mean, how can you even remove your jumpsuit after? you just unscrew the rig with the implants sticking out of fabric?

Why do you need to remove clothes? Are you going to stop working?

I know, right? 24/7 shifts. Talk about dystopia :steamhappy:

Hell even with sedation, keeping the clothes on while you screw things on the body means a lot of fibers ending up inside...

Obviously, someone screwed up the design specs in regards to comfort, usability, and basic sanitation, and the computer just followed the instructions to the letter. Well, except for the part of applying any anasthetic at all...

Well Warren was still clothed when he went to the ops theater, you'd think he would hav undressed first.. or at least they could have given him a sort of second skin suit..

even worse then dirty cloth fibers in the wounds... is the hair, and bone fragments in the brain implants.

Artistic license is the only real reason for this. I would hope in a world were rigs like this are a work place common thing they would either have quick mount points that let you put a jump suit on they connect a rig over it. Or suits with a lot of velcro to allow you to put them on over and around a rig.

The lack of sedation shows something went wrong and that could include the undressing. They also might have good enough technology to be able to clean both the skin and the clothes without removing them.

But every other worker sports the same "attire" as Warren. And that's clearly an operating table in the cutscene... he should be undressed. And how would you use the bathroom? It should be safe to conclude that devs overlooked the detail :steamfacepalm:

Obviously there is an implant for that

Well maybe during the surgery quickslots are installed as well ? So you can take the rig off after the work...

Yeah, that would make sense since the suits do change fast when you upgrade, but still he must have some fiber in there. Maybe Medbay takes care of that, so they don't care as they will patch them up later, and they're supposed to be sedated anyway

EDIT
I mean Medbay could be cleaning you up too now that I think of it, you are in so much dirt and blood all day, yet after you visit you're fresh

I have to say my first thoughts upon watching that scene were exactly that, including "and how exactly is he supposed to wash and use the toilet?".

Given 1) overpopulation 2) the way Warren was dumped (and other bodies were there), 3) General attitudes at Creo, do we think they even care at this point? I got the feeling that their "employees" were just disposable assets to be used, abused and dumped when they were no longer useful.

Its just something to ponder about thou! I mean it really is weird that patient would not be undressed before such operation or got changed into some special fitted body suit more then that. It makes you question CREO methods even if we say that no-sedation was because of the Surge.
The whole operation is just shady and inhumane as hell. I don't think people even expect that RIG will be grafted to their bodies like that. I mean...♥♥♥♥ :D . I would expect something like that MAY be needed for his legs for example. But for rest of body? Just to add strenght? People already working on exoskeletons....NON are grafted directly to your bones and flesh!! JESUS!

With that said, its just a game and it was metal as ♥♥♥♥. Its never mentioned ingame, anyone saying anything against having their rigs grafted to them so most probably the whole proces is fine in that universe and makes sense to them. Apart from that sedation ofc.

Simply amazing intro. Felt like some old-school gritty sci-fi LOVED IT! Exactly what I expected from "Sci-Fi Dark Souls"
